Late kick off on TV... Longer in the pub.
Rumours that Braithwaite has had a knock and DeRoon is off so expect something like this.

    Randolph
    Christie Ayala Gibson Friend
    Howson Clayton
    Traore Bamford Fletcher
    Assombalonga
Can't wait for it, ground will be bouncing, lots of new faces.

You must be on strong stuff!

Anything is a bonus from this game. Boro have spent more this season than we have in about 10 years, so the difference in quality should be high.

Jack O'Connell has picked up a facial injury in training and having seen him last night, I can't see him being able to play. So...

    --------------------------------------------Blackman
    ----------------------------Basham-----Stearman----Lafferty
    ----------------Freeman-------------------------------------------Stevens
    ------------------------------------Coutts-------------Fleck
    ---------------------------------------------Carruthers
    ----------------------------------------Clarke------Sharp

    2-0 Middlesbrough.

Be an interesting reference game for the blades. Clearly I would like a convincing boro win but it will be interesting to see how united fare against a quality championship side.

I think it will be a close game. Maybe just one goal in it.

How much patience do you think there will be among the fans if you don't get off to a flyer? A number of times last season we struggled to break teams down at home and he didn't really have a plan B and stuck with 1 up top. I gather Karanka was similar and he got hounded out for it? Be interesting to see the fans reaction if Monk offers up more of the same.

*Can I just add the small caveat that Monk has a much stronger squad to work with now with a lot more options, and could play a completely different style to ours last season. In which case I wish him buona fortuna!

Like you inferred we have so many options to change things, especially up front.

Think we've won our last 15 consecutive matches (although that includes 6 pre season friendlies so the real figure is 9 consecutive wins). We last lost a match in January 17 and including friendlies our last 25 matches are

    Played 25
    won 21
    drawn 4
    lost 0

That run of results from Jan17 is very Celtic like.
So you could say Chris Wilder has developed the winning habit.

Really looking forward to the game so see us tested. Although Brentford gave us a wake up call last week because technically they were excellent and better than us but there are other qualities that make a good team, not just technical ability.

Confident we'll perform well and make it a competitive game but I think we'll lose

My prediction Boro 2 Blades 0 but who knows.
This team often seems to exceed my expectations. It never knows when it's beaten.

Just seen you've only sold 2000/2600, bit shit that for a fairly close game.

A work colleague went to the ticket office this lunchtime and the girl behind the counter said there's 400 lef\t.
Final sales should be close to 2,500. Some of our fans have obviously decided to spend the £30 admission price on beer whilst watching the game live in a pub in Sheffield.

There's also the Cardiff City away game on Tuesday night, at lunchtime we'd sold 1,300 for that.

    I agree.

There were loads complaining about the loyalty points system being unfair last season as you can't catch up the regular away fans' points. Funnily enough it's usually the "big" games :)

Robbed there in the 92nd minute , should have 1-1 keeping our long unbeaten run going.

Sky showed 2 videos to prove that our player was just offside
HOWEVER if you compare the 2 freeze frames. You can see they were taken OUT OF SYNC.
At the point of the cross he was onside, besides it looked an own goal so can't be offside.

However Boro deserved their win, neither goalie had much to do but Boro were far superior.

    1st half.
Complete domination. Basically men v boys. As the half went on it was obvious last season there was 2 divisions between the teams.

    2nd half.
I ain't sure what the half time talk was, maybe be just sit back, these are woeful and save yourselves for Tuesday. Whatever it was we did that and basically stopped attacking. Haven't seen the non goal but 7 minutes into the shef u celebrations it was quite funny.

Will take the 3 points. Loving Britt. Loving Christie and Howdon will be a favourite.

Was at the match . We were superior in the first half, albeit we had a shaky start. 2nd half was scrappy , I imagine it was lack of match fitness . Utd were better 2nd half but they appeared like they ran out of ideas too.

Kicked off at the end. Utd fans went berserk after they thought they equalised. Didn't and the Boro fans taunted them. The Utd fans charged and some exchanges. Utd fan ( his Boro mate bought him a ticket in the home end) near me jumped up when they scored and Boro fans threatened to deck him. Someone's car was smashed as I walked past and I could see police running to the away end. Personally it's the worst bit of behaviour I've seen at a match. Apparently there was a lot of bother outside

Worst set of fans we've had at the Riverside for a long time. I don't know what is acceptable in league one, but that was just awful and doesn't belong anywhere near this sport.

Pretty much what they said on the Football league show.

    2 wrongs don't make a right I guess!
