Dortmund (vs Hannover 96) 5-1, Bayern (vs Stuttgart) 4-1. Business as usual against the bottom placed teams.

Andre Breitenreiter now sacked at Hannover (was already under heavy pressure for weeks) and replaced by former HSV player and coach, Thomas Doll. So now he's again at (the little) HSV :D. Would surprise me if he can save them but his contract is also valid for Bundesliga 2.

Jovic, you were supposed to take some points off Bayern, not Dortmund. :angryfire

Oh well, a point on a tough trip for the black and yellow is alright I guess, especially since Bayern lost to Leverkusen. 7 point gap now, same as it was after the first Klassiker. 9 matches have passed since then, safe to say Dortmund have done well to keep the same tempo in that period.

Wow, that was dramatic yesterday evening at the Millerntor in Bundesliga 2's top match
    #4 St.Pauli vs #3 Union Berlin 3-2

Looked like that St.Pauli would win it with 2-0 until Union Berlin equalised with 2 goals in 80 seconds in the 84/86th minute. And then St.Pauli got a penalty in stoppage time. Great match and suddenly St.Pauli is at #2 because Köln's match in Aue was cancelled due to heavy snowfall. Tbh I would like it when HSV and St.Pauli would go up, maybe even with Union Berlin as #3 and winner of the relegation playoff against #16 of the Bundesliga.
Yes, I know, highly unlikely because Köln won't fall down to 4th, will they?
Anyway, if this really happens then suddenly Germany's biggest cities would both have 2 clubs in the top tier. Can't remember when this happened the last time (or if this even happened before that Berlin and Hamburg had both 2 clubs at the same time in the Bundesliga). Anyway, too early yet.

Today (and tomorrow) is DFB Pokal 1/8 Final: HSV plays at home against Nürnberg

    The other matches are:

    Heidenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen
    Holstein Kiel vs Augsburg
    Hertha BSC vs Bayern München
    Schalke vs Fortuna Düsseldorf
    RB Leipzig vs Wolfsburg
    Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen
    MSV Duisburg vs Paderborn

That's 11 Buli clubs and 5 Buli 2 clubs. Unfortunately no lower league clubs anymore in the competition.

Solid and reliable in the defense. Sometimes a bit too slow but overall it's ok. Seems that he likes it to play for HSV.

yes, now with Dortmund out of the Cup there are no opponents anymore for HSV  .

Nürnberg managed one shot on HSV goal. At the end it was 20:1 shots on goal( but only 1-0 at the end. This shows that we can't shoot enough goals especially when Lasogga is out).

Dortmund vs Werder was a typical cup fight, especially in the overtime. Both Dortmund goalkeepers were out before the match so an unproven 3rd goalie who played years for Werder Bremen's 2nd team had to make his debut. And although he wasn't bad the 3-3 for Werder was his fault. But great fighting spirit from Werder to come back 2-times in Overtime.
40 year old Claudio Pizarro with a goal (and one in the penalty shootout). Unbelievable this guy.

Tbh this isn't so bad for Dortmund, now they can concentrate more on the League. Let's see what Bayern is doing against Hertha.

btw: The other Bundesliga 2 vs Bundesliga 1 match, Heidenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen, was also won by the lower league club. Bundesliga 2 rules :D

Bit like our FA Cup - the lower league sides take it more seriously than the top flight ones.

yes, I think so. Especially with Nürnberg have more dire needs to stay in the Bundesliga than advancing in the cup. They have a very crucial match next weekend against last placed Hannover.

(but tbh: Normally in the match HSV vs Nürnberg is Nürnberg the Bundesliga 2 team and not HSV. No team was more often relegated from the Bundesliga than Germany's former Record champion ( although long gone. Nürnberg won 5 of their 9 Championships in the 1920's).

Today we have another Bundesliga 2 vs Bundesliga 1 match: Holstein Kiel vs Augsburg. I'll keep my fingers crossed for our northern neighbours from Kiel.
