I wonder did burnley break the record for long balls in that game. It's basically all they did even when it clearly wasn't working. Deserved win for city

It is, but such is our luck it's come at a time when Mr perfection domestically in Guardiola turns the Prem into a 100 point league and completely cleans up domestically. We can't be expected to dust ourselves down and go out and get 97 points next season and even if we did it wouldn't be enough. It never is with us.

Hes made your club step up so you should be thankful, youve gone from nowhere near trophies to getting close and its not over yet.

That second half you knew the goal was coming city where just camped in Burnley's box. Only hope is if Cardiff beat crystal palace so Brighton least have something to play for last game otherwise the league is city's.

Chin up mate, we have a fantastic future ahead of us, this side is pretty young and unlike in the past are capable of challenging for honours for a while. We'll be up there again next season. Still have the Champions League to play for.

Of course we have to to dust ourselves down & have another crack as there's no other option but to try & rise to the challenge. & yes City are historically good, all the more reason for us to appreciate what this LFC team has done.

Who knows what the future holds, City had a bad patch this season & they will again next season. I think we need a better squad next season if we wanna compete with them again mind you. Points wise that current squad has overachieved & the midfield still needs work, both areas are lagging behind City in quality.

Of course we do.. we can't fade off like the Rodgers and Rafa seasons but those summers we sold our best player after it and didn't replace them in anyway adequately and lacked depth to begin with.

Now we've been as good as we've been in 30 years and it's still not good enough. We start next season knowing any dropped points is a disaster because City have raised the bar to a level not seen in 130 years or whatever of the English top flight. Whatever we do next season it won't be enough unless we're absolutely perfect.

The thing is, I could see it before the season started how it'd pan out which is why it's been so frustrating. A good mate of mine is a United fan and tipped us to win the league before the season, I said to him I think City will win it and just be too strong for us and he had a go for me not backing my team. I said to him I think we'll do better than you think we will, but it still won't be good enough, we'll need around 100 points.

Exactly, we're much better placed. This season is genuine sustainable improvement.
You know who else starts next season thinking they've gotta be perfect? City. It's a 2 way street. They probably thought they'd piss the league again at the start of the season. I thought it would be closer but they'd win it easier than they likely have.

Yes they will likely have similar points next season & it's really f#cking shit that we have to get past a side that relentless but we have plenty of improvement we can make. We could start by beating them home & away, instead of a draw & a loss. Even 2 draws woulda been enough for the league this time.

Difference being this time we have a genuinely talented and top class group of players. The front three are going to be just as good next season as they have the past two, Alisson will imo get even better. Van Dijk and Gomez potentially the best CB pairing we've had since Hansen and Lawrenson. Keita and Fabinho now showing what they are capable of. The two full backs young and pure class. The future truly is bright imo. No aged first teamers we need to replace either.

The only worry is keeping hold of them all.
