From April this year the government will abandon all the concessions for new cars that meet low emission targets. Only zero emission (electric) vehicles will pay no tax, everyone else, including hybrid drivers will pay substantially more. These changes apply to new vehicles bought on or after 1/4/17. As an example my own car, which is currently £30 a year road tax would be £140 a year, an increase of 460%. The joys of motoring . . .
