The one where all of our good chances came down our left hand side.
I've tried erasing last night from my memory but as far as I can remember you only had two decent chances in the game, both for Hugill, and one of them was laid on a plate by Jason (I love to fall over and give the ball away) Puncheon. Our makeshift defence was the least of our problems last night, particularly AWB.
When the draw was done I worried we'd suffer a similar fate last night but we probably benefited from Eriksen, Alli and Son not being fit enough to play City on Monday night. Still had a weakened side but those three with Wanyama and Winks in the middle added a bit of quality to our game.
I do think we'll see Arsenal reserves v Spurs reserves in the quarters though which is crazy when you're this close to potentially winning it. Moreso with the chance you could then get Middlesbrough or Burton in the semis.
I just want you lot to lose, if we go out so be it
Worry about Southampton not City.
I’m not bothered about Southampton I want someone not from the top 6 to win this cup so I want you to lose it’s that simple
It'd be mad if Spurs and arsenal do that but at least they have Europe so a lot of midweek games to juggle anyway. League Cup tends to be 4th priority if you're in Europe which can open the door to others who prioritise it more.
Middlesbrough are in the Championship which means stacks of midweek games and that doesn't help the League Cup for EFL clubs.
For Premier League clubs not in Europe you hardly have midweek games all season barring Christmas, so a few midweek don't hurt. A good cup run helps a feel good factor, escaping the monotony of mid table or the dredge of trying to avoid relegation.
Which is surprising that West Ham put out such a weakened team when there next game will be Saturday and Sp**rs played Monday then will play the weekend then Europe during the week.
I fear this is a bit futile.
I thoroughly expect to get absolutely tanked.
Youll be wanting full strength team from Leicester? I want to win league cup again
Never know pal
We’ve been so absolutely shite lately mate. If you have to get out of second gear I’ll take that
Newcastle won at ours in cup few year back
Our game vs Soton will take place on 27th November
Is there any point to the League Cup if near enough every team in it plays a second string team leaving the semi finals with the same teams who have the stronger squads and maybe someone else with the luck of the draw.
Occasionally you get a Swansea winning it (who actually tried to win it) or a Bradford reaching the final, and Southampton were very unlucky the other year, but it just seems a waste of time if 90% of teams are just playing the reserves. Maybe if they changed it so teams who are in Europe don't enter then teams would go for it more as a better chance of winning something, although it'd take away some of the prestige. And if they still offered the Europa League place for the winners it may or may not be a good thing, as teams like Burnley this season can't seem to get knocked out of that quick enough.
City make ten changes so only the likes of KDB and Sane coming in to the team tonight
****ing gutted, been sent home from work throwing up, got a bad feeling about this game
Diaz 1-0 via deflection
Positives to take from tonight. Get a LeMarchand-Mawson centre half pairing and we might stand a chance
Maybe your bad feeling wasn’t about the result but rather about De Bruyne getting injured, I read he’s out for another month which is a big blow.
