I figured I'd start a thread for our Champions League campaign, the final is in Cardiff but apparently we still have to play the fixtures leading up to it :whistle

Last set of qualifiers tonight and tomorrow evening. Who do we fancy?

I really fancy a Spanish away day so Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla to choose from hopefully. Villareal could qualify (currently losing their qualifier) but I think they'd be in the same pot as us.
Which incidentally will be pot 3 unless Manchester City and Porto both go out. So a Porto win tonight and a 5 goal win for Bucharest needed tomorrow.

I can only do one away trip before Christmas so hoping it's somewhere decent. Already got the home tickets at Wembley sorted! :D

Group stage draw on thursday, really exciting, could be a sick group with just heavy hitters or it could turn into close to a Europa League group.
Have said for a while that dream group for me is Juventus - Porto - Spurs - Celtic. But will be surprised if Porto get past Roma tonight. Maybe Leverkusen in stead.

Chuffed Porto turned that around, would love a trip there.
Also means we avoid Roma going in to pot 4.

Hope Ajax can do similar tomorrow, we can't play Ajax but Rostov progressing would mean another opportunity to draw a Russian side.

Certainly has that feel to it but we have to take it seriously. Great chance to get out of the groups and reach the knockouts.

On a downside I can't see Wembley selling out now. 51k sold so far so close to another 40k to find from somewhere.

    @superyids

51,000 sold so far. We won't sell out 40k for these games so they will go to general sale.

Can't imagine Monaco will even go close to filling their allocation either.

I am slightly upset. everyone going on how we have a "good draw"
well actually i';m sad. whats the point in spending years and years and years dreaming you would be in the champions league and yet you don't play 1 great team. as said above seems more like a Europa league group :(

DD I will be trying to get tickets for the Leverkusen game.

well we mark our return to Europe's elite competition this week.
I won't lie- I am a bit gutted that there isn't a European "titan" in our group.... asides from ourselves of course. it would have been nice to have got barca, juve or Bayern and then 2 "lesser" teams.

anyway this is a good group and I feel if we don't qualify we will kick ourselves. maybe the titans await us in the knock-out stages. this is an interesting game because I can't believe that Monaco will be as bad as they were last season when we beat them in the EL. can't say I know too much about them but i'm gonna plump for a win. ah- well that was a kick in the teeth. waiting all these years, Wembley stadium filled and then... anti-climax. definitely have to admit we are up against it now. need to win both home games and probably 1 away game as well. still not impossible but its gonna be a struggle- that's for sure.

positive note- well boys lets look on the bright side. we can officially boast to having the highest ever home attendance ever in English football history. celtic have had higher so it's not a british record but it is an English record. suck on that utd, Liverpool and arsenal:) :) :)

We already had a higher attendance than Arsenal and Liverpool. The former is at Wembley too!

Big performance needed tonight. we face an uphill task already but if we lost both our first 2 games its a herculean task that would face us then. lets hope the likes of dembele are back.

Dembele, Dier, Sissoko, Rose and of course Harry Kane didn't travel.
Will be a very tough game tonight. Not confident at all for this one!

I'm confident in the starting eleven (although would feel more confident with Walker & Rose). It's more the bench that is a worry.

Injuries take it's toll on the depth in the squad. Hope the 11 get the job done.

That's better. Very open group so can't complain at an away win, could be crucial.

Second going in to the double header with Leverkusen. Need a minimum of three points from the two games.

Was a good game. Deserved winners. GK Nkoudou, what a brilliant cameo appearence. Obviously one hell of a pain in the arse for defenders. He made a big difference in our attacking play.

great win! back in this group- hopefully we'll qualify now.
surprised how dominant we were for an away team. that's as good a performance away from home in the CL as youre likely to see (barcelona asides maybe). i'm excited about nkoudou. looked great when he came on. defo could be a nice surprise player this season. seemed to go under the radar with our signings this summer

Off to Germany! Champions league away trip! :disco

Three of us going, only two tickets in the away end. Fingers crossed we get lucky over there.
