I didn't agree with us bringing Kane off the bench on Friday night but I can't agree with us being "wankers" that stockpile players.

We didn't make a single signing in the summer, started as many academy players as Hull did today, brought three more off the bench (inc Kane), two of which made their debuts and ultimately stayed in the cup too.

Bringing on Kane was needless but that aside, I was happy with our attitude towards the cup. You conveniently left out the two other subs making their debut on Friday night, one of which is only 18 years old.

Fans want to see the best players ffs....and how many players in leagues below the prem will be able to say they played against the likes of Harry Kane?...Damned if they do damned if they don't. Personally I think it's a good thing.

I thought the big teams not taking the cup seriously is what was killing it.

I’m pleased Man City put such a strong side out against us. Who wants to see Man City reserves?

On the game itself, we had a footballing lesson today, 7-0 flattered us, could’ve and should’ve been double that, but a great day out and we made almost £1 million out of it.

Part of me feels that the FA should make it part of the competition entering rules that all teams play their strongest side.

Another part feels that it gives lesser teams a chance if the bigger teams rest their best players.

Comforting that we're not the only team with egg on our faces this weekend.

That said, Doncaster looked a decent outfit, even at full strength it would have been a good contest.

Donny are a decent organised side with a goal threat. That said that was the most inept, and lacklustre performance from a north end side I can remember.
I always stay to applaud the players off even in defeat but today was too much. For me from minute 1 there was no effort or desire.
What it did show was that fisher and Crowe can’t play at championship level any more and that we can’t carry 11 first team injuries and still perform.

There’s no need for a New Year’s Day game after playing 22nd, 26th and 29th IMO. Having the cup games after four games in ten days or so gives teams an excuse.

The problem really is that Premier League football is so lucrative that everyone is shit scared of losing it. ****ing Leicester with no chance of finishing anywhere but 8th-14th again resting players is ludicrous.

It's a shame really. Mid-table teams in the Premier League are a fortunate set of draws away from reaching a cup final, and they rather risk it to finish 9th over 11th because it gives them a few more million pounds.

Reaching the FA Cup final was in my top 5 all-time favorite moments. The first three promotions (under Taylor and then Brown), and the great escape under Warren Joyce among them.

Suspect we will be travelling up to Blackburn - be a tough one and they have Danny Graham.

Gillingham at home, a real opportunity for us if we do prioritise this competition.

    Could have been Cardiff...!

Reckon you'll beat Newcastle...you were close on Saturday.

And I reckon we'd have to field a stronger team than we did against Woking - well have Deeney in the team at least.
