After his amazing goal from inside his own half against Plymouth on his professional debut 17 year old Charlie Kelman has got a lot of people talking

Thinking is divided between take it slowly, he's a fantastic prospect for the future and should be eased into the first team slowly bearing in mind his age and inexperience and those who think he's hungry and ready and should be one of the first names on the squad to start

    What's your view?

Didn't even get goal of the week , the Lincoln lad smashed it.

There's no defining answer to that question , other than if he's good enough he's old enough.

You have quite an old squad age if memory serves me right , have faith in Powell he'll do right thing .

So rumour has it, but a move to a club where the attitude is " if he makes it, great, if not no big deal " is not necessarily the right move for a player of his age
At Southend he will make the regular first team and make a name for himself

My view would be that the keeper should have saved it

It was a fluke and he’ll be playing for Canvey Island within 2 years.

Totally agree but heads can easily be turned - and not just the player's!

Anyway as the guys have said - it was one goal...in his first game.

And it wasn't a great effort by the goalie tbh but credit to the lad for having the foresight to try.

I liked the way he just wanted to get on with the game too like an old pro rather than celebrate it.

As an ex keeper myself i'd have been embarrassed to let that effort in he was nowhere near getting the ball  One fortunate goal does not mean Southend have a future Premier League player on their hands.
