Hi lads. What do you think about Luiz? Is he the right signing for us?
David Luiz has been perfect as the sweeper in Conte's 3-4-3. Similar role to Bonucci had in Juventus' back three. He can tackle, pass and bring the ball up. Cahill and Azpi can cover him too. We have the best defense in England.
Anyone fancy James Rodriguez?
I wouldn't say no but I do think he could be a risky signing.
Tactically, James Rodriguez could certainly fit into our 3-4-3 as one of the attackers behind Diego Costa. However, I have a feeling Conte will turn to Serie A to strengthen our squad.
Agree..... Conte will go to league and players he knows and seen.... Rodriguez had a good World Cup in Rio but not played that much since signing for Madrid....IMO I don,t think managers know his best position
Again, Rodriguez was one of the best midfielders in the league the 2014/15 season. Not playing regularly won't produce the best out of him. Just look at Higauin.
I don't see how he could fit in our system unless we make shift Pedro/Willian and play a 3-5-2. Conte is very tactical and has his mind set up on tweaking formations depending on the outcome of the game. If he trusts James and pushes for this signing, I have all my faith in Conte.
Still think Man United have a bigger chance of signing him than us, they're not scared to splash big money on big names and we're a lot more sensible in transfers recently.
I would love to see him here though, he will take our attack to another level. He's much better than Willian and Pedro.
Hazard Costa James as the front three... Dreamy.
In regards to this season, I disagree. Pedro has regained his Barcelona form under Conte. I actually get irritated when I see Willian ahead of him if I'm honest.
Willian > Pedro for me. Pedro's playing well at the moment but I think a more talented player thrives in that role more. e.g. James Rodriquez
It's the perfect system for attacking midfielders to attack and have zero defensive responsibility.
Willian not been the same player since his mother died, Watched him at Palace on Saturday and to be honest his heart just didn't seem in it. Conte soon substituted after half time for Fabragas who for me changed the game and made us more attacking
Upgrade on Alonso is a definite now.
Both City and now Spurs exploited that weakness and kept delivering crosses from his side without any pressure. Not to mention Walker again mugged him off with pace.
Understand he's probably knackered from practically no rotation, but he isn't a player we purchased who should be considered a starter.
Would like to see us go after Emerson at Roma. He's particularly good, IMO.
I would give Kennedy a start. Played at full back last season a couple of times and done well... So why not give him a go as a wing back. Has got plenty of pace and can defend as well as go pass players.
