Don't know much about them, but seems to have a bit of money. Surely a good thing for them though.

Would have thought they would wait until the points situation is resolved first as that will likely have a big impact on what league they're in.

Be interesting to see if they buy the ground too as assume it will need to be somewhere it's valuation...

Having money isn't as important as knowing how to run a club within FFP rules.....

We have very rich owners but it means nothing as they can't spend it and keep within the rules. Our owner is (was) clueless about FFP and is only now getting his head around it.

You can't buy a championship club and compete these days with how far the rules are against non-parachute clubs, it may not be Derby but I think a club will go bust soon because of how unattractive buying a middling championship club is these as it's near impossible to get up and grab the PL money.

Doesn't seem like it is massively over-valued to me, and this type of movement of assets is quite common. It's all OK as long as the valuations can be justified.....it's not like they have sold it for £80m.....

Hate to tell you this but we weren’t guilty of that:-). Anyway the point is that clubs are struggling and using methods like that to ensure they don’t fall foul of FFP.

They had attempted to look into selling that land to for housing development (it's the Senior Training Centre part of the land, the Academy remains in the clubs ownership) and to then merge the academy part with a new senior training facility to bring them together, whilst raising funds from the sale. This was strongly objected to by local residents and the fan base are still divided on things.

Harsh but prob true . Still, this land that was sold is in the Ribble Valley so worth a fair wack!

Yes, this was done to help balance the books FFP wise. Our income is mostly via gates and merchandise (and we sit very low down the chain in terms of what comes in), with Covid our income was pretty much destroyed. We had to file our accounts later, that meant a very slow transfer window while they were ratified and we were embargoed. Lots of players out, very few in at all. We have 4 key players out of contract again in the summer and are at the limit of what we can offer wage wise.

We have rich owners but will struggle to properly compete as we are a small town with lots of clubs around us and a low wage budget and income.
