When I try to add a pic from my photos it says the file is too big. Is there a simplistic way of shrinking a pic without going through a website to change it to message board friendly?

    thanks in advance

You could crop the photos slightly, that reduces the file size.

When emailing a photo via the default android email app, it gives you the option to resize the image.

I've actually found a use for my Facebook account, other than keeping up with nephews and neices' progress.

My simple quick fix (I upload a lot of my pics) is to upload them to a private Facebook album (which re-sizes automatically) and then use that address to put them here. It's much quicker and easier than editting or cropping each photo you want to use.

I await a simpler solution from your excellent question.

Just use a site like imgur or something and link to there instead?

Its a bollocks uploading pics direct from the phone. Even if the picture is the correct size it comes back with server error a lot of the time

That’s definitely not easier, or quicker.

I'm sure there's a bit of software or web site that I'm not aware of but, especially for my bird and wildlife pictures, it's much quicker (e.g. for my avatar or the pic below) than cropping and re-saving using the Lightbox editor that I process most of my serious pictures on.

As I said, I'm still waiting for the simpler solution that I'm sure is out there.

The forum should be able to automatically resize images to the maximum allowed if they are too large. That doesn't seem to be working properly, so I'll work on it...

Yep. Sorry Panja. It's for the good of the board.
