    Bah!

Started well and could have scored more.

Then they came strong and we lacked experience I feel - sitting back and allowing the Croatia midfield to play.

Overall a very good World Cup - shame about the end.

For me, regardless of the age of this team, I don't see this side winning the World Cup. This was there chance, and they've not taken it. There's some very talented youngsters coming through, who look to be a lot brighter than any of this current squad were at this age (Foden, Sancho, Sessegnon) and they may well go on to do it, but a lot of these young players won't be in the next squad.

Proud of the lads and what they did. If we'd only nicked a second goal in the first half when we were on top. Croatia were better after the break.

This new England side can do it and if everyone is fit and sticks together we could well have a real attempt at Euro 2020. We've still got a 3rd place place off and we might just win that and get our best since '66, or at the very least match our '90 best since then.

Well at least no more "It's coming home!" everywhere. It got annoying really fast. And i hope the England fans who got carried away and wrote a very good Croatia side off have finally come back to earth.

That said, to those who were not cocky i think you have a lot to be proud of when it comes to England this tournament. To make the semi final is a good achievement. The draw did open up but England did what they had to to get to the last four and nobody expected that pre tournament. And aside from a few idiots, it was nice to see people getting into the football and the positive energy around the nation.

England started the match well and were overall the better team in the first half, but from then on Croatia started controlling the game and were the better team and deserved to go through in the end. I think Croatia are just a slightly better team than England and the result reflects that. They are fairly evenly matched overall but Croatia just have an extra bit of quality that England lack in the find third.

Looking forward to the final. Should be a good match

I don't know how Kane is getting a pass for missing not once, but twice from point blank range. If that was Sterling there'd be bonfires across the country! Ultimately Southgate has to take responsibility for the team not being able to shut up shop, or by the looks of things not even trying to!

Leave it to the Irish to say it straight ... the English are a soft lot of 4 beer huggers ... easily insulted ... tea an crumpets ....

Keane turned many a pampered soft English player into a footballer with some balls ...

SAF’a right hand man... and in the end Keane turned and told SAF you aren’t a lint ball on Brian Clough’s sleeve.

    Shocking.
I'm not allowed to drink because of the pain meds I'm on after a minor operation last Thursday, but today was a special occasion so I've treated myself to 3 cans of Holsten and a vodka and tonic.

    So far . . .

I felt strangely sanguine at the finish. But we really should have put the game to bed early on, when the going was good. Putting the chances away is crucial and no amount of spin proves otherwise. As is so often the case the lack of a bit of cool-headed quality in the final third let us down. But things can only get better as more quality players come in.
