Hopefully they don't get hit with the new stadium 'curse'.

As you said it's about time this happened.. and hope it works out for the best for the club.

Great news for Everton & the city aswell.

Interested to see what capacity they'll go for.

Not the greatest location Imo but at least they have pulled the trigger on something with the owners showing a bit of intent.

They've been at this stage a few times over the years, hopefully this time a new stadium will actually happen. :hopefully

With all the regen going on around the waterfront over the next few decades, I would imagine there will be continuous infrastructure improvements. Also the existing area is horrible to get to. It seemed to take forever to get there.

This location is a bit out the way and derelict now. If there's enabling developments around it and it expands the city centre out towards it then that's good for the city as well.

I wouldn't have minded us moving there with a high enough capacity.

The only downside to the development around there is that it is very long term. We are talking 30+ years plan. However, this stadium might accelerate certain aspects of the plans.

It is in probably the most awkward part of Liverpool to get to, the dock road is already a ****ing nightmare. Not to mention they will be down wind of the waste management plant . Should be pretty smart if it goes ahead, Lukaku definitely off this Summer then to pay for part of it, and Barkley too.

There are some risks to LCC and a clear rationale for supporting EFC, both of
which are outlined in detail later in this report. It is important to highlight some
of the key terms of this deal which oblige EFC to:

Provide a rent which will allow LCC SPV to pay its rent to the Funder
and to pay an annual Security fee to LCC
    , thereby safeguarding the
Council from any commercial risk from the venture. The Security fee is
anticipated to be in the order of £4M - £5M (based on a projected new
Stadium cost in excess of £300M). The margin fee will be determined
by the shadow credit rating exercise and taxation advice which is to be
completed by KPMG on behalf of EFC and LCC; and

 Provide a full Security Package which is in line with security levels
expected in the commercial finance market that will create new ring
fenced bank accounts into which certain EFC incomes will be credited
to deal with an eventuality of non-payment of rent.

So everton will be paying 4-5m + rent on the stadium, looking to be a total of 10-12m per year for a stadium they won't even own :eeek. Not really sure how this makes financial sense for them, especially when you consider the money is largely in TV & Sponsorships these days? Surely they could renovate Goodison?

Romelu Lukaku had a hand in six PL goals in March (four goals, two assists), more than any other player.

52,000 or 65,000, doesn’t really matter when it’s unlikely to ever be:
    - built
    - full after a few years

Bring on the half season ticket offers
