There's some decent ties there. Ours is likely to be on TV.

Hopefully they can avoid sticking Manchester United on. Chelsea I'm resigned to being on tv, which wouldn't be so bad at Forest but don't see much opportunity for a shock at Stamford Bridge. There's no reason at all to stick the latter on though.

Don't think we've ever played Southport so hopefully they win the replay.

Genuinely can't remember the last time United weren't on TV in the cup.

I would guess at least 15 years ago.

It depends how many games they televise but I just think you've got the opportunity to show enough of the other big teams that the TV companies will favour showing.

Spurs and Arsenal both have appealing ties. Wolves v Liverpool has a chance of an upset. They'll definitely show Chelsea v Forest.

The likes of Woking v Watford and the Welsh v Leicester should make up the rest.

Your game is one of the dullest in the draw and will end up being a home win in United reserves v Reading reserves. It'll be disappointing if they find a way to squeeze your game in.

Wasn't there a tie last season when they weren't on for once?

They will pick the Spurs/Arsenal ties plus ours as its the lowest ranked side at home to a Premier league they could get something again.

Blackpool fans will love their game to be on TV if they win the replay - as they will want to boycott the game in protest against their owners and would get national exposure.

West Ham away, i'll take that. Sadly they're no longer at Upton Park, but it's still a new ground for me.

Delighted for Solihull Moors too, a tie against Arsenal if they win their replay.

Their game against Derby last season. I remember them saying it was the first time since 2005 that one of their FA Cup games was not televised; I believe against Exeter who would have been non-league at the time.

Fuming. Our game at Tranmere/Southport is on Friday night, 3 days into the new year. No chance of getting that off. Gutted I won't get to see a new ground.

BT also chose Man Utd - Reading which is astonishingly dull

No surprise Man U were picked ..

We are at Woking on the Sunday at 2pm.

Newport/Wrexham v Leicester and Wolves v Liverpool on the BBC.

United game aside, I think the other five on TV were really the only interesting ties (and that's only if Solihull win the replay, as most of the genuine Blackpool fans are boycotting home games) so they were all fairly obvious picks. As I said in a previous comment the lack of other interesting ties gives BT a chance to chase ratings with Man United, even with an interminably dull tie. There's not even any novelty in Reading going there and they probably won't take many and may rest players anyway.

I'd rather watch Sheff United-Barnet. They should put more effort to put the non league sides on while they're still in it. The 3rd round of the FA Cup isn't about the big clubs, unless they do draw a minnow, in which case it's about the other club (i.e. the Spurs tie).

If they wanted to show a top team at home then Man City or Chelsea might have been better.

Least with one you'd get some goals and excellent football and Forest are more likely to give Chelsea a game than Reading are at Man U.

Agree with the general consensus on the other ties - no brainers.

Thought BBC might go for another potential lower league v Premier league tie as they like to hype up the romance of the cup.

Yeah, Forest are actually a good Championship side, that's certainly a more appealing fixture. As well as being a better side there's a lot more neutral appeal with Nottingham Forest than Reading.. As you say at least if you put City on you're putting a better product on with the best side in the country (which United at least were when they'd always be put on no matter what previously).

And there's no romance in an all Premier League 3rd round tie. We play at Wolves a couple of weeks earlier as well, which takes the novelty off even more. BBC and BT chasing ratings really as usual with Liverpool and United, but at least Wolves-Liverpool has a bit more appeal. It's a game neutrals will want to watch, as opposed to Reading, so that was always going to be picked.

Loads of ties been moved for overseas coverage

Hardly any games actually kicking off at 3 over the entire 3rd round.

Good thing with the League Cup is you know what time the games will actually be played.

I don't see why anyone would want to watch Bristol City U23's vs Huddersfield Reserves tbh
