    Hi all,

I'd appreciate some feedback on proposals we have in place for the Championship, League One and League Two forums.

We're currently reviewing the activity levels across the board and looking at ways to bring more traffic to a fewer number of sub-forums, thus improving the quality of discussion. We'll be looking at every sub-forum's place on the site, but starting with the UK & ROI football section. We've also taken in to account suggestions and feedback from the main feedback thread, which is where these proposals have stemmed from.

So, in short my proposals are:

    1. Remove the Championship Match Threads sub-forum, and merge the content with the main Championship forum

    2. Combine the League One and League Two forums into a single sub-forum. Drop their respective match thread sub-forums and merge the content into the new single forum.

Over to you guys for your thoughts.

Yeah think they should be merged tbh if it makes it easier for you guys to manage also.

Might spark up some chat if regular championship posters see other league threads that they might not normally venture into.

Sorry, to be clear the proposal would move from having the current structure:

    Premier League
    -- Premier League Clubs
    -- Premier League Matches
    Championship
    -- Championship Matches
    League One
    -- League One Matches
    League Two
    -- League Two Matches

    To:

    Premier League
    -- Premier League Clubs
    -- Premier League Matches
    Championship
    League One & League Two

My suggestion would be 2 forums:

    - Football League Discussion
    - Football League Match Threads

The separate match threads forum has been brilliant in the Premier League section, so would be a shame for the FL section not to have the same. But I definitely agree with consolidating the divisions.

Yeah a revamp is definitely needed.

Could even put the championship/league 1/league 2 all into one big football league forum, then you can have a matchday thread sub forum within that.

Also maybe merge the two irish football forums as they are really inactive.

So you would suggest having one forum for the Championship, League One and League Two, with it's own match threads sub-forum?

It's certainly food for thought. Our view is that the Championship forum has a reasonable level of activity, and we didn't want to disrupt that too much by throwing L1 & L2 in there if the Championship users aren't happy about it...

That's my proposal yes, but nothing more than a suggestion. Can wait and see what the Champ users think of it.

I'd consolidate Leagues One and Two, and keep the Championship as a separate forum.

Enough of us in the Championship forum to warrant its own forum IMO

Can you pull off a report on posts made in the three forums to see how active they are? Mainly to see if Championship warrants it's own.

Personally id like to see champ/L1/L2 all merged to completely open it up and encourage more interaction.
I think some get far too protective of the section they are in.Love joining in the prediction leagues in 1 and 2 and have an interest in both those leagues.

The difference with me is I don't find it beneath me to get involved like some of the big boy ignorance attached to the upper end of the football world!

    Sorry I misunderstood it.

Think all 3 FL forums should merge into one

Is it ignorance or is it a lack of interest? Just because you aren't interested in something does not make it ignorance and it is ignorant to conclude that it is for the sole purpose of sucking lower league fans dicks x

Personally think the proposed changes make sense, I post a bit in the Championship forum and it's active enough to warrant it's own forum, not too sure on cutting the match thread sections out though.

 As a Liverpool fan born in Liverpool after our last title I take great offence to that, If I wanted a bit of glory I'd like to think I'd have picked a team who won a bit more .

 The worst thing is I can only really remember back to 2004, which means I can't remember the treble, all I've got is a few league cups, a Champions league and plenty of cup final/league heartbreak .

I'm looking into it; not entirely sure how easy or hard it will be, but the data is clearly there.

Actually, I got it wrong earlier. Nothing other than the Prem forum has had a separate match threads area for a good while now.

I got rid of the Football League match threads forum within a few weeks Tafs. Poor idea on my part. Are they still showing your end ?

No no no and no again. The Championship is still very active and doesnt need merging with League One and Two.
