You lot don't even collectively get the Oasis albums the right way around either

At least neither came first, and you can't really moan that Monkeys won it tbf, it's a quality album.

I don’t get this at all and I’m not sure what I am missing with the Artic Monkeys. Having listened to it on several occasions it’s just really unremarkable, but each to their own tastes I suppose.

Good winner. Nobody can say that isn't a bloody fantastic album that shaped my early teens

    I can’t argue with that

Mardy Bum and A Certain Romance are masterful. Very worthy winner tbf

I'm so chuffed 7 other people had it on their list. It's my number 1 by a country mile. I remember being so excited to get it and when I did I don't think I listened to anything else for months.

Mardy Bum was mine and my then girlfriend's song and when we split up I struggled to listen to it for years. But A Certain Romance, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, Fake Tales of San Francisco, When The Sun Goes Down are all absolute bangers. And the other songs are not just filler (except maybe Perhaps Vampires....) but absolutely great songs in their own right. Still Take You Home for example gets me going nuts everytime it comes on shuffle.

Seriously, I don't think I can gush enough about this album. It's one of the few albums I put on just for the sake of it. If you were between 18 and 21 when it came out and it didn't speak to you, then I honestly don't know what you were doing with your lives.

All my picks in the top 3 so I wasn’t fussed of the order. The Oasis hating snobs can kiss my arse too as both albums are brilliant.

Thank you @Tomohawk for a great thread and competition. And for all your time and effort, it’s been thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Sorry you didn’t get to finish the way you intended too.

    Fabulous job :)

Agreed on the Oasis albums :)

And no problem. It was a bit disappointing that it didn't work as I had planned (and slightly annoying that I gave you all time to say you didn't fancy my idea before it began ;) :D ) but I always knew it was a bit of a gamble. Just thought it would be a good way to get people debating music they wouldn't normally even entertain discussing :)

I should also add, because he gets a bit of stick (good natured of course), that @RedDevilsShinja and his group were by far and away the most active and RDS was incredibly open minded (except with Oasis of course) with the discussions that the group were having. They actually gave me hope that it was going to work

Glad you enjoyed it mate :)
I've enjoyed the running of it again and already have a plan for the next couple. Next one will maybe come later this year or if not this year, early next.

I also have a music quiz which has been 60% complete for about 6 months now so I will try and get that finished - maybe that will be a bit of a Xmas special for the music section!

I think there was too much contempt for the last 15 off people so was always going to be hard for your ending to work. Well his group did better than my group then .. we didn’t really try did we  but it was a really enjoyable thread.

Love a quiz :) can we ban Matt please as he cheats.

Yes, we had a conversation about it. Are you suffering with some sort of lockdown dementia?

I thought Miss was talking about groups within the thread. Like cliques of posters who have the same opinions etc.

    Great Job Tomo again.

As someone who is doing one of these for horror movies, which is on a lesser scale than this, it is not as easy as some may think and it can be time consuming to do all the write ups.

Look forward to the next one
