This would be better coming from an owner without previous history for overspending.

We've never ever come close to falling foul of FFP. We sold £40m worth of talent last summer to comply, meanwhile Villa (who were in a far worse position than us) just doubled down.

    How is that relevant?

We have taken steps to make ourselves compliant with the rules that are in place, these other clubs have not (or at least have not done so in a way that is in keeping with the rules).

Villa should be charged. Disgusting behaviour imo.

    It’s relevant but hey ho.

In regards to Villa and Derby, i’d love to see the EFL, act and pursue the two clubs shifty dealings but fear nothing will happen.

    How?

We spent within our means at the time and have cut our cloth accordingly to fall into line.

You are judged over a 3 year period, we have complied, others have not.

You have complied but surely had you put relegation clauses into the contracts beforehand you might not have needed to offload so much talent in one window.

erm we got relegated in 16/17 , we spent parachute payments but kept it within manageable levels, your point is irrelevant as we havn't broken the rules . We had a go and then amended, the others had a go, had another go then didn't amend. You are trying to make your incorrect argument correct by not stating any facts.

We scraped through this year due to some compensation over HS2 apparently but next year we are £25M light which means if we fail in promotion sale of McGinn or Grealish

HS2? What a load of bollox. WTF can a new railway line have to do with anything?

There is a strong rumour that Blues are preparing to go to court soon over this. Not to argue their own punishment but to highlight certain other clubs who are getting away with it scot free.

Disclaimer - This is not my information, a couple of people with close connections to the club mentioned it.

    Agree with it, wholeheartedly.

Derby for me have spent ages in the championship, yet i never hear of them really cutting their costs back. They seem to spend a fortune on players every year as well.

At least when we do overspend, we cut back accordingly when we find the gamble didn't pay off. Clubs like villa and derby have been taking the piss for too long. He shouldn't be doing this now though, because it just simply looks like sour grapes on our part should we fail to hit the play offs.

Other years perhaps but this year we sold Vydra for 10 mill and just spent that on players so fail to see how we have over spent this year and "took the piss"

Also this is coming from the man that had a 31.8m loss in the 2016-17 season and only avoided punishment due to Karanka getting them up. How very hypocritical of him. It's purely sour grapes. And him banging on about selling players we've sold Hendrick, Hughes, ince and Vydra in order to comply- our 4 best players. There is such a margin between teams with parachute payments and teams without and I dont think we should be brandished as an awful club for trying to compete when we haven't even broken any rules. If Leeds are allowed to bend the rules and spy why aren't we allowed to sell our own stadium when there is no rule against it? Sure its cheeky, but Gjbsons probably just salty that he didn't think of it first.

Are Derby not already under a ‘soft embargo’? Much like we were when we signed Pederson.

    How do they work?

Just seems odd how you can sign someone when you can't sign someone
