Less than I expected, but we have have worked closely with the EFL throughout this difficult period and have complied with all their requirements. It will be tough working with the agreed business plan and contract renewals will be difficult, but it is what it is and we have to deal with it.
There's a well known phrase... It could be worse! Yesterday, with the Derby deduction, we saw genuine evidence of that! We're still 4 points from the relegation zone and have been inconsistent enough to expect to move up rather than down. Hell, 29 games to go and we're only 10 points out of the playoffs... Premier League, here we come
Reading’s business plan includes: • Total salary cap of £21.1m this season, down to £16m next season • A maximum of 25 “permitted players” (players with 3+ starts in Championship or PL) • No transfer, compensation or loan fees • An average salary cap on new contracts Won't see many new academy players starting this season.....need to keep those 25 slots free....
I imagine he would be, he's hardly going to have many offers with his injury record and anything he's earning at Reading is more than he'd otherwise be earning.
Gio Van Bronckhorst going to Rangers, ruling out the Russell Martin to Rangers rumour that I haven't heard outside of this thread. I doubt it, I just think he'll be on a low base salary. Being paid a few thousand a week to get yourself into some sort of match fitness and play some football is much better than him just being sat at home. If it does work out and he does look good at this level, he can get himself a deal more like the ones he's been used to in January.
Just flicked through Saturday's Sun at work & couldn't believe that Troy Deeney writes a column & not only that he's bigging up Villa saying how massive they are , f*ck sake , some people do anything for cash !
He was in our local pub on Sunday afternoon, the missus said are you going over to say hello/get a photo?..I said am I bollocks, I wasted 2hrs of my life watching him yesterday!!!
Knowing Deeney he had probably been there a while! Had a purple patch then seems to faded form wise again.
To be fair, he was effective for them on Saturday. Effective the same way it would be if you stood a wardrobe in the middle of their front line and kept trying to bounce the ball off the top of it.
Looks like Poveda, on loan to us from Leeds is done for the season. Broke a fibula and ankle ligament damage at the weekend. Just our luck!
BBC have story Jokanovic to leave Sheffield United Jokanovic set to leave Sheffield United Wonder how Blades fans feel, has he been given enough time to implement his style that took Watford and Fulham up ?
From what I understand, he hasn't been given the financial backing to bring in players for his style and apparently there will be none in January either so I'm guessing there's been a fallout
