Another important game possibly more so for them than us but it could have been oh so different if we'd beaten teams lower down the table in recent weeks as we were expected to do.

It could be really tight with both teams cancelling each other out on the other hand we might see plenty of goals because we both like to attack. Who knows? So...a hard one to call but while there's still a very very slim chance of catching Newcastle Utd we have to go for it!

    Looking forward to it! :D

The result could also act as a psychological boost if you have to meet in the play offs.

    Catching Newcastle?

I only care about securing the play off place now. Town lose to Fulham (a good possibility) , Leeds win at Burton (Probably, Burton are better away than home), Wednesday beat Derby (almost definitely) and Town are under serious pressure. Its not beyond the bounds of probability for Town to lose the two games away at Birmingham and Wolves.

This is the one to win and hope the Geordies run out of luck on Monday.

    Must win really.

Would start Kebano instead of Sess but otherwise unchanged IMO.

Looking forward to this one, should be a great game of football from two footballing teams. I'm quietly confident although I'm fully aware that the home game means nothing.

It's strange that you lot seem to be anxious about losing your Play-Off spot. Despite your recent bad run it would take something catastrophic.

I can't see us winning this one. Fulham will look like scoring on the counter every time they break

If anyone can do catastrophic we can  we all remember a few years back when we played Birmingham on the last day of the season we were practically mid table and only an absolute freak set of results could put us in trouble, yep you've guessed it down we went and my god did Brum enjoy it.
Not one to hold a grudge ;) but guess who we play the penultimate game this year? payback time? :bye:D

I was going to say I can't see both Leeds and Fulham catching you, but IF you lose to Fulham and Leeds do win at Burton as you suggest then that immediately throws out this (relative) position :

    Huddersfield P43 PTS 78 (GD +4 max)
    Fulham P44 PTS 76 (GD +25 min)
    Leeds P44 PTS 76 (GD +16 min)

still would leave a game in hand, and would be assuming Sheff Wed catch you and Reading/Newcastle remain above you.

    Huddersfield : Fulham (h), Wolves (a), Birmingham (a), Cardiff (h)
    Sheff Wed : Derby (h), Ipswich (a), Fulham (h)
    Fulham : Huddersfield (a), Brentford (h), Sheff Wed (a)
    Leeds : Burton (a), Norwich (h), Wigan (a)

The owl's run in perhaps looks ok, Derby at home with nothing much to play for, Ipswich mid table and Fulham at least home if play-off rival and looking to stay so. Huddersfield win that Fulham game though and they won't catch you and Leeds will be hard pressed to, as would Fulham be even if you lost but won any of the last three.

Think the worst you'll possibly face is being sixth, would take some implosion to be worse.

This exactly. Palace had to win their last 2 games both away, one of which was at Portsmouth who then also had to win their last game. Town only needed a point at home from the last game to be safe.

Towns record in genuine "must win" home games is dreadful and has been for at least 40 years. We haven't actually won a home play off semi yet in 7 attempts, only beating Bournemouth on penalties after a draw.

That was an absolute classic, Bournemouth fans still talk about the atmosphere at that fantastic match.
The playoffs are certainly the most memorable way of going up but also the most heartbreaking if you don't.

And what "luck" would that be then ?
The constant convenient soft penalties JUST when you need them ?
No thats Brighton for much of the season
    Injury free ?
Nope - we've had more than you, and longer lasting (Gayle for example) but you complain about it more
How about referees smiling on us ?
(Incidentally - the FA have made the referee of Newcastle v Preston - Andrew Madeley - from......guess where ?)

I watched them game on a laptop in a Hostel in Cairns at 5am. It had run fine through the game but started to buffer really bad just before the penalties. As Kay stepped up to take the crucial penalty it froze again. When it came back the pitch was covered with Town fans

I guess Jokanovic will stick to the plan of scoring more goals than the opposition, while letting in goals just to give us heart attacks all round.
Need Bettinelli to be at his best.

Bettinelli Fredericks Kalas Ream Malone McDonald Johansen Cairney Aluko Ayite Kebano
Piazon & Sessegnon to come as subs if goals requires, Parker, Odoi to be subs if we need to strengthen the defence late in the game..
Odoi is supposed to be fit so wonder if he will preferred to Fredericks.

Should be a good game this.

Can't believe Udders slipped up against Bristol C, Burton and us. Still hope you can catch Newcastle though.
