There are strong rumours that Champions League games (don't know about the Europa) will be moved to the weekend and that weeks league game moved to the midweek.

Would be good for travelling to euro aways but would obviously hit the domestic scene and take away from the traditional Saturday.

Silly idea tbh. It’s just a step forward for these that has the European Leagues in mind.

I don't agree with most stuff they do but don't know if this is too bad an idea.

Could very well be but what about that proposal in isolation?

Here is the tweet from the chairman of a media company involved with the big clubs. .

There is a lot happening in the football world right now. I hear from very good sources that CL will be moving to weekends. Domestic games on those weeks will move to mid-week. Means split kick off times and brings in Asia and Americas audiences. Changes domestic rights packages.

Maybe it’s because I have less interest in the CL these days, but I enjoy our domestic games being at the weekend. The fans get shafted enough as it is with varying kick off times and now more games supposedly will be shifted to midweek.

They will do as they like in any case.

The quicker all the cash rich sides piss off to a European Super League the better.

The traditional Saturday is long gone for us anyway so I wouldn't be against playing euro games on a Saturday and the domestic game during the week.

pitty they could no play both a domestic match and a European match on a Saturday after all in 1916 celtic played raith rovers and Motherwell on the same Saturday and won both matches.
