Yes it is. They're bringing it in just about everywhere. It'll be where I live in 2027. Over 300 schools in Manchester have pollution levels above the safe limit. It's been obvious for some time that this will be happening.

Whether it is or it isn't it has been handled terribly, with confusion everywhere over the borough, in some areas signs have gone up the size of postage stamps, with no clear understanding from communities.

It's a green levy, being rushed in because in just 8 years all new vehicles will be zero emissions, so they need this tax brought in now based on figures that are already out of date. Leeds have already binned theirs because pollution levels have already fallen below legal limits, and it's only Burnham's desire to have the world's biggest vehicular green tax zone to his name that's behind the continued folly in Gtr Manchester.

I haven't seen any news of "300 schools" having illegal pollution levels either.

    Leeds:
Leeds’ Clean Air Zone has achieved its aims early and is no longer required, joint review finds

Rushed in because of high pollution and a commitment to reach geeen targets. I'm all for cleaner areas.

The article you've posted says that's due to businesses meeting standards quickly, which will happen elsewhere. That's all good.

    Kids being poisoned:

Quarter of UK pupils attend schools where air pollution is over WHO limit

    Red Nev !

Wonder if he can get Carragher canvassing for him :D

Absurd stuff , he's gonna have to give up some of his business acquisitions, his role at Salford & or his Sky stuff to do the job properly if elected & would he stand in his own constituency which will most probably be in an affluent Tory heartland .

It's galling of course but Starmer didn't put in place the laws that Johnson and his chums broke with their parties, neither did he stand in the no.10 briefing room pontificating to us plebs about what we must and mustn't do whilst ignoring his own words consistently.

Starmer= having a beer in a work environment after hours late at night with a few employees

Johnson- showed up to a preplanned party with 30+ people there, having explicitly made the rules not to do so

People not being able to tell the difference are morons. People manipulating the difference for political gain are morons.

    I bid you all goodnight

If this keeps growing then I'm saying fair play to them. 14+ parties in a year when they're all middle aged is f*cking hardcore.

Good of the media to dig up a picture of Starmer from last year when many of them would have been sitting on the stories about Johnson's many parties.

What will be interesting is whether these populist policy announcement will do anything to stop the polling rot.

They are clearly only aimed at appeasing Tory backbenchers, but if the polling remains so dire - and the assumption we are only ever 1 week out from another Johnson ****-up leaking into the press - then surely they won't let him stay on.

What good are these policies if 100+ of them end up losing their seats at the next election?

The policies are getting increasingly desperate. Scrapping the BBC, using the Navy to combat unarmed refugees crossing the channel in rubber boats, deporting refugees to Rwanda???

People finally waking up to the realisation that a Boris Johnson Tory Government doesn't give a shit about them.
