Was coming given that start, any ideas who they're looking to appoint?

Am surprised they didn't appoint Steve Evans at the start of the season

I took 4/1 them being relegated start of the season in singles & a double with t'Barnsley at 11/4.

Joy untold! Don't actually think we have a bad squad, not expecting to be top 6 or anything but also not expecting to be bottom 6.
I'm massively surprised he resigned, don't believe for one second he walked away from a 2 year contract pay off.

I'd be over the moon with Sol Campbell, think we need a bit of an ego to come in and sort out some of the senior players at the club who have clearly thrown 2 managers under the bus and got them out.
Our fanbase is having a bit of a clamour for club legend Adam Barrett who is currently first team coach at Millwall. I'm not so sure on him, he'd certainly give us 'passion' but I've never been quite sure what that achieves. Plus Millwall will want some compensation for him, we will not be paying for anyone so the likes of Campbell or Phil Parkinson are much more likely.
Parkinson is another interesting one, his Colchester links wouldn't please all, then his style wouldn't please all but he'd surely do a solid job.

    Phil Parkinson 4/1
    Sol Campbell 8/1

So today Henrik Larsson watched what was surely his first live 3rd tier English football game. Whether he'll be our manager remains to be seen, but sitting with the owner, watching on you'd think he's pretty much the favourite.

I've found out Lee Clark has been interviewed, no thanks, and there is a rumour going round that Harry Redknapp is still involved in the boardroom at the club and has made it clear Sol Campbell should not be offered the job.

Larsson would be an eye catching appointment but I'm not sure it would work out that well, League 1 is nothing like the standards he's used to.
I wouldn't want Lee Clark for sure, but why would Harry Redknapp object to Sol Campbell?

Larsson would be utterly left field and a complete gamble, but then who isn't at this level. He has a poor managerial record, but then a Swedish football fan has been on Shrimperzone and basically said he's actually pretty decent. He got the worst team in their top division, with no money and no signings to safety and then moved to a bigger club where he was shat on from a great height by the owners. Seems he is pretty decent motivator of players.
His issues appear to be that wherever he goes he falls out with people and is politely referred to as 'difficult' in his native Sweden.
Ron's been in the press claiming Larsson being at the game has nothing to do with any appointment and is 'part of the interview process'. This is who just a few days earlier claimed that he had, had no contact with Larsson and was not anywhere near his shortlist of candidates.

As for Redknapp and Campbell it's something historical apparently and is a long running spat.

The Lee Clark thing is just shocking, but then he made it to the last 3 before Chris Powell was appointed. Either his agent or he himself are clearly friendly with Ron because it would be a hideous decision to make him manager.

In fairness, I’m friends with a guy who moved from Blyth Spartans to Darlington in the summer, just like most of the Blyth squad. Their owner has pulled the plug on any further finance and they have had the vast majority of their squad broken up. Lee Clark was a good manager at this level at one point, it may be left field but might still prove shrewd?

Whoever gets the gig I'm hoping they're sh*t.

Larsson at the game again, still just part of the interview process apparently! Doesn't matter who comes in we're a League Two side next season, I just hope he's given time.

Sol Campbell looking likely, just the paperwork to go through apparently.

In bigger news it looks like about half our debt has been cleared. A change of ownership (fingers crossed) in the offing?

Funny you should say that, he apparently is now the one close to being announced. I was told Campbell was just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's.
But it would appear our massive debt write off (which includes all outstanding loan money to Sainsbury's and two banks) may well have come from larsson and an investment group.
Crazy goings on at Southend currently only thing that I can be sure of is a large chunk of debt is now gone and no one knows who paid it off.

Last rumour going around was Larsson and friends were investing in Wycombe, and with Adam at Millwall only person left for us was Campbell
    It's all very confusing
Wonder if Ron's treasure chest has been found, or maybe we've had a Tax rebate :roflmao
