Sounds like we may have a new manager appointed at the end of this week. Down to 3 people, 2 currently not in work and one who is employed within the football league.

Everyone is just throwing names at the local reporter and it’s like a game of guess who knocking people off the list  I’m sure Richie Wellens will be one of them, Stephen Robinson has been mentioned a lot but in all honesty it could be anyone.

I haven’t agreed with the clubs recruitment policy in the last few years but one the last two managerial appointments were spot on, let’s hope for more of the same

Ironically if all those fans outside were allowed into the stadium it wouldn’t have been a powder keg outside the stadium, and spike could have been averted.

We've hired our new manager today. Announcement on Monday unfortunately. Looking nailed on to be Wellens.

Was between him, Stephen Robinson and John Eustace.

Will they be getting any backing from the board or will it be another year of scrambling for free transfers & loan players in the 3rd week in July to compliment your 6 / 8 contracted players ?

Who do or did the fans want ?

Has Copps got his badges ?

Would have been the ideal candidate to promote stability at the club & not the usual jump ship types you usually employ albeit the board & lack of spending have something to do with that .

We have one of the eight highest budgets in the league and have done for the last 4/5 seasons tbf but we'll never be a club that spends £500k+ on a new player but we probably don't need to this season with the numbers released! We usually only have about 2-4 loanees to add that bit extra that any other team does, it was just Moore who took it over the top and none of us fans were keen on that tbf. Hoping we'll get to recruitment straight away next week now.

The first choice from the fans was probably Stendel, for me after that I'd have taken Clough, Tisdale or Wellens. The only reservations on Wellens was that he has a bit of an attitude and rubbed a few people up the wrong way, such as he fell out with Butler last time he was here. The style of football fits the club though.

Copps hasn't done his badges and doesn't want to go into coach but he'll be staying with the club in an advisory role, doing some mental work with the lads.

Not sure I'd want continuity from Moore if I'm honest! Our local journos done a piece of what he's heard since Moore's gone. He was late to training and we ended up with a split dressing room, the long term lads and Moore's lads. The football was a bit meh too, so I'm not fussed that he's gone. Apparently him and his agents had been looking for that Championship move from day 1, there's a big Darren Moore PR machine!

If it is Wellens I’m really happy with that. He was a part of the best Rovers side I’ve had the joy of watching. By the sounds of it things really weren’t as rosey as we thought behind the scenes with Moore and team morale, so if he can just steady the ship and create a team that play good football and work their bollocks off then I’d be completely happy with that next season.

I am slightly concerned about him wanting to jump ship if he’s successful, but hopefully he’s learned from his move to Salford that the grass isn’t always greener.

Yeah I think you could still say he jumped ship but only because he knew what a state the club was in. It also seems to have surfaced that Power basically told him to speak to them so he could get the compo because, with everything that's come to light in court, he doesn't have a penny to put into the club.

The players certainly proved what a terrible manager Moore was by going on that fantastic run after he left.

No they just carried on the same run he'd took us on.

Yeha pretty much, was kinda hoping that his presence at a handful of our games recently meant that he was waiting in the wings for the takeover to happen but alas..

Which would suggest it was more the players than the manager, otherwise things would have improved after he'd left.

Did you read what I initially wrote? I didn't mention the results. I did mention the players HE brought in made a split changing room, which yes it would then be the players fault...
