    Probably L1 standard. Great guy.

Struggled in a struggling team last year, partly because he was struggling with an injury/recovery in a struggling team.

Great going forward but needs a good partnership, especially defensively, with the RW/RM, which he had at Accrington and originally with us - Piero Mingoia.

Manny Oyeleke, probably our best player, signs a new 2 year deal.

He seems a good lad 'n all that but he's let in far too many shots more or less straight at him. I expected big things after his Walsall spell but he has been pretty poor overall. Can see the new lad being our #1 next season

Cheltenham have made their second new signing of the summer. Tahvon Campbell on a two year deal from Forest Green.

    So far we've brought in...

Ben Richards-Everton - CB - 27 years old, 6ft 5" and promoted from this division with Accrington
Jackson Longridge - LB - 24 years old, back-to-back promotions under his belt with Livingston, Dunfermline fans seem gutted he's left and I think we've paid a fee
Zeli Ismail - W - 25 years old, released by Walsall isn't a great sign but we needed a winger and he's spent the last 3 years in L1
Sam Hornby - GK - 24 years old, didn't get a look in at Vale but that's only because of the form of Brown. Solid L2 keeper by the sounds
Adam Henley - DF - 25 years old, 2 senior Wales caps and played in the PL & CH for Blackburn. If he stays fit I think he'll be a good acquisition for this division
Tyler French - CB - unknown, very young and had a lot of FL clubs have him on trial... we're the ones to take the punt

Pleased so far. Shay McCartan will be like a new signing as well if he stays.
We were a shambles at the back last season and that seems to be Bowyer's priority. All a good age as well and with a few more signings I'm confident we'll be there or thereabouts this season.

Aaaaand we've just gone against all the above and announced 35 year old striker Clayton Donaldson :D

Solid signing at this level and I can't wait for him to get 30 goals in our title winning season

30 goals sounds ambitious after only scoring 1 all last season?

    Who've you shifted out ?

Looks like some good signings , Donaldson will do well in this division & was impressed with Ismail , tricky winger , not a goalscorer though , Henley could be solid at the back for you , can't be no worse than our old boy NK Percival , he's sh*te !

Bit of sarcasm... I do think he'll get double figures though. Good signing at this level even at 35 yo.

Caddis, Chicksen, Clarke, Jones, NKP, McGowan, Wilson, Woods, Wright and a few youngsters all released.

Got to agree RE NKP. He had a good first year with us but has gone way downhill since. He'll probs get a L2 club

Another signing for Bradford, Paudie O'Connor who was on loan there last year. I think he ended the season as their captain.

He's a good player, did well in the champ for us when he has filled in in previous years, expect him to have a career higher than League 2 but i like he's gone there where he can become a leader in their team and hopefully get them back up at the first attempt.

    Mathieu Baudry to Swindon.

Rolls Royce of a defender, cool as a cucumber on the ball and a great character too. The big question mark is whether he can stay fit.

Yep there's your League 2 signing of the window. Fantastic to tie him down on a 3 year contract and like you say hopefully he can be a crucial part of our team for years to come.

Think that's the defensive side of things covered now. We need another winger or two and are crying out for a creative midfielder. Bring in a winger, CM, CAM and ST and I will be very confident of going straight back up.

Wes Hoolahan is training with the U's. There is a lot of talk about us giving him a trial to see if he's fit enough. I think it's more a case of him giving Colin Calderwood and the emerging squad a trial. He may have had little game time at WBA last season but the Irish Messi is probably the ideal AM (Ageing Midfielder) for a team in our position.

Hopefully there'll be 2 or 3 signings this week and the 3 contract offers that are on the table for Maris, Deegan and Little Leon (Davies) will also be resolved one way or another. The main other talk is Deegan out and Marcus Bean in for the DM (Doddery Midfield) position.

Correction/Update:- Little Leon (RB) had already signed a new contract. It was youth GK, Finley Iron, who was hesitating. He's now signed but, having seen him a few times (he's 19 and on the small side) I'm hoping he'll be out on loan and we'll have a senior keeper competing with Mitov for first choice.

Deegan has also signed, which may put some question marks against the Marcus Bean rumours.

Maris hasn't signed, which leaves room and cash to allow Wessi Hoolahan to sign if we can sell the opportunity to him.

Really pleased with the business we've done so far, especially Donaldson and Paudie O'Connor. Sounds like we're close to signing James Vaughan aswell which would be brilliant. Not sure what will happen with Eoin Doyle if Vaughan signs.

If Cambridge get Wes H that would be a cracking signing and put a few on the gate. Bradford got a gem in Paudie O’Connor.

Pontiff without the sparkling wit or the goal touch.

He'll do a job if given Pope type service and was in his element against Conference defences at Holker Street.

Yeah pleased with this, coupled with Dion Conroy signing a new deal, our defence is looking pretty sound for next season. Now to secure some more fire power to go along with the loan signing of Jerry Yates.
