Probably one of the best wingers and most reliable at getting crosses in across the Division. All you have to do is keep him fit.

The Pontiff and Richie Bennett should be licking their lips in anticipation.

Injuries are going to be your main worry this season. Must be nice after the last few years.

I think we are all hoping for a season where we won't be worrying too much about relegation for a change.

We’ve signed a winger/striker from Shrewsbury, can’t remember his name, Alex something.

We’ve signed Dom Telford (14 goals, 6 assists last season) from... you’ve guessed it, Bury.

Things are getting a bit jittery on our Messageboard, understandably if you look at our current strike force.

The itk rumour is Wes Thomas from Grimsby to fill one of the slots. If that's a prequel to another Wes signing (Wes Hoolahan has been doing a soccer school in Ireland but is due to join our scottish training camp) and a couple of decent CC inspired loan signings, things might calm down a bit.

Andy Keogh on the way back from Australia according to some journo on Twitter... Would be good if it came off.

Funso Ojo signs for Aberdeen. £125k apparently so not a bad bit of business.

I like him. Some Argyle fans did overrate his importance IMO, whilst others over-compensated for that by not rating him at all. Hopefully my take on him is a more fair and balanced approach.

He can play centre-back but at his best just in front of the defence. He will drop a couple of big clangers per season (for example ) and isn't the most technically gifted footballer but he's an absolute scrapper. He'll spend all game throwing himself into tackles, blocking shots, getting his head on things- and he's always the hardest worker and most committed player on the pitch. Even if he's not a regular starter for you (I assume he will be in midfield in League Two? but probably shouldn't be if you get promoted) he's still a more than useful option to bring off the bench when defending a lead.

I think your fans will really take him to him in League Two, and he'll be a good option in League One if you make it there. It was probably the right time for him to leave us. Players like Songo'o should be appreciated but not idolised in the way he was by some of our supporters- I think that was a sad indictment on the rest of the squad because maybe we would still be in League One if his team-mates come the end of the season had the same fight as him. Hope he does well for you.

We've loaned Alex Palmer to Plymouth for the season, young keeper

What's he like? We have our own young goalkeeper - Michael Cooper - who is only 19 but very highly thought of here. Be interesting to see whether its Cooper or Palmer who starts on the opening day.

Not a clue pal. Never been given a chance. Was solid for the reserves/kids I think

No news on our continuing striker vacancies or confirmed names for our striker trialist but signings are "hoped for" between our friendly with Leicester on Tuesday and Ipswich the following saturday..

Apparently we're close to finalising details with Wes Hoolahan who played in our friendly against Rangers yesterday (we have Hearts on saturday), which will be a major boost. Considering changing my tag to HabbinHoolAlan but won't jump the gun.

LB, Dan Wilson, is no longer on trial and our interest is now focussed on experienced CB Elliot Ward and Michael Harriman (ex-Wycombe fullback/midfield) who are both getting some game time. Harriman will fit the bill if he can cover LB. Ward is more confusing - we have CB fairly well covered unless our youngsters are failing to impress as back-up and one is being considered for a loan out. Wouldn't say no to Ward but not at the expense of proper set of starters and cover up front.

What do you know? We've signed LB Dan Wilson and that probably means defence/keeper sorted and well used to each other. Wilson was with us 2 weeks and played against Fulham and Forest.

Rumour has it we're after Danny Hylton.

Wellens has said we're close to signing a striker from a Championship club, putting 2 and 2 together... I would be over the moon if it happened.

At least you'll get plenty of dodgy penalties. ;)

Bring it on, Doughty can keep up his conversion rate from last season and panenka us all the way to promotion.

Glass half full or half empty?

The pessimists have us with a half decent defence in front of inexperienced keepers and depending on a powder puff midfield with no fit strikers.

The alternative, driven by the rumour mill, has us signing 4 or 5 this week to turn us into a solid mid-table side with aspirations.

The Irish Messi, Wes Hoolahan will be got over the line this week ............................or not.

The only options that seem to have opened up for upwardly mobile, George Maris, were L2 competitors and turned down. There's still a deal if he wants it this week. This is a player who has been assumed on his way to the likes of Rotherham, Barnsley and Lincoln for a tribunal fee over the last 6 months.

Apparently ex-Grimsby striker Wes Thomas is back in discussions.

We're still after another striker as well, either from the recent trialists or a Calderwood connection loan.................or a pitch from Max Rushden to the likes of Darren Bent.

Oh and Elliott Ward is still in the building to give more experience at the back.
