After the friendly cancellation only one of the trialists - Jonte Smith - has been kept on for a further look.

Yesterday we also signed Gavin Reilly from Bristol Rovers on a 6 month loan and Jake Doyle-Hayes on a season loan from Aston Villa.

Just signed triallist Sidy Sanokho on a deal til January. Came on for 20 mins in the Coventry friendly last week and played 90 minutes vs Melksham in the week. We may have potentially stumbled across a gem here.

Marc Richards signed for 6 months. Will be straightforwrd back-up for Jabo - who surprised me by lasting 90 minutes at Bradford but won't do that week in week out. Another Calderwood influenced signing.

Clearly we're going to be sticking with 2 up front this season - we even stuck with that when we went down to 10 men on saturday, until the last few minutes.

Noted that Carruthers is still training with the team, so there's a chance he'll sign - which will be a bonus with Deegan out for a few months and O'Neil suspended for 3 matches (Sensibly, I don't think we've appealed the red card. it was more an assault than a tackle).

Love Rico but he's finished I think. Pretty sure we saw the last of his best work when we signed him in 17/18.

Confirmed that we're trying to get Samir Carruthers AND Elliot Ward through the door before saturday.

Looks like we had a fair bit of the budget reserved for Hoolahan and/or there's more money in the pot than we'd been assuming on the terraces.

That's satisfactory and means that we've been able to afford 4 of the above plus 2 strikers (Sam Smith and Marc Richards) after all. Just hope it actually happens.

Signed by Hurst for us from Wealdstone in January 2018 but didn’t make his debut till April that season but did score against Bury. Fringe player first part of last season starting in FL Trophy games and the odd sub appearance here and there. Shipped on loan to Colchester second half of the season where he played more than half their games and scored 2 goals one of which was on his debut.

Raw and inexperienced but talented. Culpable to the odd mistake being caught in possession. But could be one that comes back to haunt us. Last action for us was him blazing over the bar in Pre Season v Newport where it was more easier to score.

I wish him good luck. 50/50 which way his career is going to go but our fans are disappointed he didn’t get much of an opportunity and let a good prospect go.

Hearing the fee is £40k with 30% sell on fee.

He tore us a new one in pre-season. His brother, Mo, is our record sale having scored 25 goals two seasons ago.

Eoin Doyle to Swindon. Wish we got a fee for him, giving him to a league rival for free for the season seems odd. With a big man next to him, he'll score goals.

We play 4-3-3 but for some reason Bowyer played him as the forward who dropped in (effectively the #10). That’s not his game. He needs to be in the box on the end of crosses/knock downs. If he’s the #9 and you have pace out wide who will supply him with umpteen crosses, he’ll get 15/20 this season no doubt

Jack Roles, 20 yr old attacking midfield, signed on loan from Spurs until January.

Another that Colin Caldwell's presence probably helped over the line. Spurs fans expect him to have a future at White Hart Lane, he featured in pre-season first team games and they tell us the chant will be "Jack Roles, he scores goals."

Bradford signed Callum Cooke on loan from us for the season.

Play him just behind the strikers & he'll do well , play him further back & he'll struggle !

Callum Cooke and Jamie Devitt arrived on loan for the season. Both seem good signings on paper, Devitt especially after his season at Carlisle last year. We were desperate for creative midfielders so these two could be the icing on the cake.

    Hand us the title.

We have signed Zak Rudden on a six month loan from Rangers. Lowe is mates with Steven Gerrard so not a huge surprise. Rudden scored 12 goals on loan at Falkirk last season.

3 in 3 now. Love him so far, with the quality of crosses that will be provided by Isgrove, I can really see him bagging as many as you say.

I've got a little wager with my mate he'll get 15. Easiest £25 I'll ever make.

I would ask for him back but Bowyer would waste him, take care of him.

Finally got Samir Carruthers through the door to bolster our misfiring midfield in time for saturday, after Sheffield United paid off the final year of his contract.

Two defeats in a week and yet bullishness strangely still rising.
