Discussion in 'Domestic Cups' started by The Doc, Oct 31, 2019.
It will get rearranged anyway so pointless even discussing it
Not really because unless the Premier League move a game there really is no room until after the semi finals
The FA will figure it out they have to.
Surprised people care so much outside of Liverpool and Villa fans.
Why has this not caused a problem before?
United played 20 games in 70 days when they won it.
Chelsea played more I think.
Same time of year and both still in all cups.
Klopps a moaning ****.
I meant what is different between the previous times this has occurred fixtures wise?
Just scheduling I assume, strange as you say, maybe the number of summer tournaments we had has pushed back the CWC or something?
Looked at fixtures we had that season.
3,4 and 5 days between all games for two and half months.
Won CWC, League Cup and League. Runner up in CL and FA Cup Semifinals. Played in Super Cup an Charity shield too.
Basically 1 game away from playing in every game in every available tournament.
Sigh. Those were the days.
You won’t be shocked to hear that I have less fond memories during that time .
Churning out 13 wins in a row during that congestion is a ridiculous feat tbf
It has. That's why your lot didn't play in the FA Cup in 2000 wasn't it?
Yeah but at least they withdrew at the start of the season didn't they?
Rather than play some games, get through and then it be a problem. Not saying Liverpool are wrong for participating - just saying it wasn't as big an issue last time as United simply didn't bother.
According to this article, they were even encouraged to not play in the FA Cup:
Football: United withdraw from FA Cup
2008 is the season I am referring too chief.
The 2000 comp was in January and had more games.
No rearranged fixture. No withdrawal.
All that bluster and hot air for nothing
If Villa don't manage to win that game against our U17's I'd be amazed .
Yeah the 'integrity' will be kept with this silly little competition when Liverpool are forced to play the under eights here will it. Bunch of tubes.
It's all they could do after your lot failed to beat their 'C' team...
If Villa don't win...
