Can hear woodwork splitting around the world as new Liverpool fans emerge.
These Villa lads are turning into a right genial bunch ,fair play.
It is because of their league form, but the thing is the Champions League is a different thing altogether.
City are very much bullies in a sense. When the opposition fears them and they have control they are amazing at putting teams to the sword. Many teams attempt to sit back and make things tight against them thinking they could frustrate them and nick a point or a goal for a win. The issue is this never works as City will almost certainly find a way through. They have too much individual quality for that to work unless you put in a miracle defensive performance or they have an off day.
In the Champions League, especially in the latter rounds, teams will not have this fear and they will come out and go at them. I have noticed that when teams go at them they look more vulnerable and that is when mistakes creep into their game. It is a risky way to go against them because you do leave things open, but that seems to be the key thing to giving them issues. Whether that is by pressing them or hitting them with quick counters, the key is to make them uncomfortable.
If they draw say a Dortmund, an a Ajax or maybe even a team like RB Salzburg they could have a lot of trouble in the next round imo
Haven’t you got a relegation battle to be worrying about?
Not a bad little side, we just had too much on the day. They can take heart from the fact it wasn't 3 or 4.
I'm sure your keen nose will sniff them out before we do fella, it's just we're a bit busy at the moment with everything falling into our laps.
Hell of result for Wolves, especially on the back of an away trip to Istanbul on Thursday. Barely anyone beats City at the Etihad, never mind by a couple. Making a habit of taking these scalps.
I'd say this game might have pep thinking about his usual sabbatical after 4 years at a club. Maybe not but he wont be happy with what he's seen from his team this season so far
He's got injuries and he's missed KBD today.
in the end sides with aerial threat have to hurt this lot AND today a lad with pace to burn has hurt them
Fernandinho and otamendi??? scary to have to rely on that.
F*ck me this is the very reason i love football..............so bloody unpredictable. Screwed up a few accumulators this weekend i reckon.
Biggest surprise of the season considering this was at the Etihad. Great result for Wolves.
Realistically if Liverpool lost their 2 primary CB, best midfielder and Sadio Mane.. the equivalent of City’s losses. They wouldn’t be any higher in the table than city.
I like a bit of Romesh, was he any good?
absolutely true. the fact is we haven't though and you need to get players back to get on a run asap.
We did lose alisson mind.
Luckily i was on circle bar area, he looks annoying just off adverts on Dave.
I'm sure that'll be playing on Liverpool's minds if they win the league.
Turns out we are a bit of a one man team.
No KDB = no points
And at the same time if we had bottomless pits of cash to replace said players we'd not feel it as much.
I mean they're that poorly they only have the likes of £65m Rodri and £60m Cancelo to fall back on. And Sadio Mane? Who is City's Sadio Mane thats missing? Sane are you talking? He doesn't get in the team half the time, so its nothing like us losing Mane who right now is one of the first players on our teamsheet. Oh and De Bruyne has missed 1 game
Lets also forget we're playing with a free transfer in goal hey? £60m midfielder just getting back to fitness, £40m still regaining fitness too, two players that would deffo strengthen us in midfield.
Its always the same, when we suffer with injuries we're told they're part and parcel of the game, get over it, when others do its "If Liverpool had these injuries, blah blah blah".
