Great way to respond to the result midweek. Feared the worst going 1-0 down after just 2 mins and the defending that went with it but the team kept their head up, the crowd got behind them and we got a good win. Pretty open game mind, both teams had decent chances but we looked great on the counter attack. Could have been 5-3 as much as 3-1!
Really poor from us today, highlighted how weak our back-up options are at the back, that said having Sanderson-Friend-Pederson-Colin-Graham all out is going to have an effect on the team, international break has come at a very good time for us, try and get some of those fit. Won’t lose too much sleep over it, tickets and trains booked for Hull & Cov, save a few pennies ready for those.
Very open game and it summed us up nicely - we don't take enough chances at one end and gift goals at the other. Blackburn fully deserved the win and once again we capitulate from 1-0 up. After going in front so early against a side that took a battering in midweek we should have really turned the screw but we didn't do it and were deservedly punished.
Called it tbh, Carlos needs to find a way to up the performance levels against these lesser sides Sent from my 6025H_EEA using Tapatalk
Absolutely robbed of 3 points today from the officials. What is the point of goal line technology if they can't see that Madine touched it AFTER it had crossed the line. Everybody could see it apart from the inept officials. Played well, made QPR look ordinary at times. 2 points dropped. Hopefully the international break can give us time to get some injured players back.
Thought we were the better side for the first 25 mins with a decent penalty shout turned down. You scored a good breakaway goal and kept the pressure on until half time. Discussions in the away end was why Bennett was still playing and not subbed as he was struggling towards half time. We conceded a second early in the 2nd half which killed us off. Our defence looked very leggy and your pace up front in pressing and counter attacking was relentless. We then lost our passing game to a degree and started playing the long ball which played into your hands even more. Our keeper didn't help and made countless errors in positioning and distribution and we should have conceded more than 4 in the end. Not sure why we have a squad and play an almost identical line up 3 games in a week which is madness. We had this issue earlier in the season when we went to Birmingham out on our feet. On the plus side our support was vocal throughout and a short drive home for a change.
I haven’t seen a replay, but from the upper Bridgford End behind the goal our pen/opening goal looked as blatant a dive as you’ll ever see from Johnson. PNE fell apart after that after a promising start pressing hard from them - we capitalised well. Unbelievable the turnaround we’ve had since Hughton was sacked - I really thought we were doomed to league 1.
Outside shot of the playoffs right now. I don't think you were ever going down with your squad, I think a new manager was always likely to turn it around. But the turnaround has been quicker and more dramatic than I expected.
Been out and not caught any of the game or the highlights, but seems odd nothing was changed when Martin talked about the need to rotate in his press conference. It's surprising that we've not rotated in defence given we've got some genuine depth at centre back. Sounds like we showed some promising signs, but it's probably where we're at now as a club. Very much a work in progress, losing to a far more complete side.
I just honestly haven’t seen us as bad as this season under Hughton since we were relegated under Megson - IRREDEEMABLY bad. Painful. Cooper’s been a breath of fresh air - we’ve even only lost 1/5 at home under him after losing all 4 home games under Hughton. Incredible turnaround. Not sure we’ve got the depth for playoffs, but think we may hang around on the edge of a push to make things exciting
Johnson got in between the defender and the ball and the defender booted him in the back of the leg. Definite penalty.
Think you might be too mate tbh. I saw nothing special from both sides today, but you did deserve the points. We need a decent manager fast.
Coventry 3 - Bristol 2 Down to ten men in the first half, came back from a goal down twice to go onto win! Unreal atmosphere at the CBS, the place was rocking even when we were losing. A very important 3 points after a few poor performances / results and very tough run of fixtures coming up. Into the international break on a high, brilliant!
It was like the one against us the other night, it was a pen but also a dive. Like so many players across the world now, he knows how to make the most of fouls. It didn't used to be as prevalent in these leagues but it's as bad as anywhere at present
I think I see the point you're trying to make here but I will put this scenario to you anyway. If Johnson had been kicked in exactly the same way (ie gets in between defender and ball and is booted in the back of the leg) but in this hypothetical scenario he stays on his feet - is it a foul and therefore a penalty?
Huddersfield had their chances but another come-back and lovely 3 points secured late-on. Possession a giddy 56%. Great to see Kieffer firing again and an assist from another promising Academy graduate Issak Davies.
