That late miss by Hugill summed up West Brom's night!
Credit to Forest for a good point.
How we haven't won that after the 2nd half I'll never know. Baggies there for the taking. Disappointed with a point tbh.
Did the West Brom keeper come off with any dirt on his kit?
Great point. Why laugh?
Let's put it down as an embarrassed laugh considering our lack of chances created against a really poor West Brom side is pretty embarrassing.
Annoyingly we actually put some decent balls into the box at times, but not one was read correctly by another red shirt. And as for our set pieces.......calling them schoolboy would be too kind.
YESSSSSSS what a point! To put it in perspective we kept a clean sheet with Gatem Bong in the side against a team with 10x our budget so proud of this team and manager.
They are still a parachute club with an embarrassment of riches Tom to go there minus two key players to our side under Coops and pick up a draw and clean sheet is a top result.
STEVE COOPER'S RED ARMY!
They're a Premier League team in all but official standings. Third in the league. You find it embarrassing we haven't created more chances whereas I would describe it as simply disappointing.
And we didn't play in red.
West Brom would do well to get the top 6 on that form but they probably will as everyone else is so inconsistent.
Remind me of us a bit last season.
Look very average most games but get results although most of those seem to be draws for now.
Maybe the should sack Ismael and get your recently departed manager?
What a bore...
I do feel Ismael's under pressure now, not sure his style of play has transferred particularly well to a side where there's a lot more expectation. Seems daft with them in third but they are a downward slide in terms of form. Last night was pretty encouraging watching if they're the best side in the play-offs, because they were very, very mediocre.
Probably a good time to play Reading if they are thin on numbers, with it being the third game for both sides in a week. We've tended to struggle with playing three games in a week with the lack of depth we have, but think we're in a better position this weekend with Ryan Manning and Ntcham to come in and strengthen our side. Laird has had two relatively poor games back to back, but we still need him in the side and hopefully it clicks for him today. If he isn't to play though, it can't really be Latibeaudiere in his place as we'll lose so much going forward on that right side if so.
Paterson - Ntcham
Bidwell - Grimes (C) - Downes - Laird
Manning - Naughton - Bennett
That’s what I like to see, ideal hoofball conditions!!!
Pretty obvious that Ishmael's style doesn't work with only 3 subs, that's why we couldn't do it this season. Last season he made triple subs at a time to freshen it up and used all 5.
Got a job in Spain but does seem they are struggling up front .
Obviously not just down to the manager though.
Last night's match was pretty dire even Baggies fans started going home as soon as the red was shown.
Classed as 1 of the big 3 , Fulham have Mitrovic , Cherries have Solanke , Baggies no one which is where their problems lies .
Re managers , people have to test themselves in all walks of life but sometimes a job is to big for you & certain places / clubs etc fit certain people , The Chewing Gum kid & t'Barnsley were a cracking fit , another couple is Nathan Jones at Luton for me over achieves whereas he was shit at Stoke & lastly the pillock at Posh has done shit when trying to step up .
Yeah, I do think that's a factor for sure. I think it's why the likes of Klopp were so desperate for five subs in the Prem last season, it makes a huge difference and allows a side to effectively completely change their front three just after half-time to press at a significantly higher pace.
It's similar to what South Africa do with their forwards in rugby, changing their complete front row after about 45 minutes every game so they can all go flat out.
I do think that he'd have more success at a side though with lower expectations though, even with just three subs.
Why are Forest fans having a go at each other, a point away is a good point, it was a bit dull, but in my opinion both teams look like good championship teams, WBA, are so far off a prem team, Fulham are by far the stand out team this year, like Leeds was a few seasons back, but even Fulham will have it all on to stay up in the Prem, the gap is massive, between the premier league and championship.
Wow Birdy a post where I 100% completely agree with you
