Unsung hero thus far, superb! Keep up the good work
Agreed - cool and collected, just got on with his job.
solid player just keeps it simple could suprise a few people this season
How much did you pay for him?
I have heard it was as little as 750k with clauses but there doesn't seem to be anything concrete.
Pompey paid £2 million then never played him.
Is it right that they couldn't play him as it would have invoked a further fee?
I understand he cost us less than a million
he does what is asked and doesn't try anything stupid. Great value as well
He assisted at least one of Carroll's goals too. Assists by a defender - bring it on.
All the team had good games - this team spirit thing might be worth a heap of points.
I'm delighted with him thus far. Really hope he goes on to have a great season. Always played well when required last season.
Yes to us..
Still at least the guy is getting the chance to play in the Premiership having left us to do so for Pompey.
Is he going to stay in the team once Campbell returns? And then when Taylor is back?
god ihsaan has a point, thats 3 centre defenders we need to fit into one spot, well we need to put one of them on the right as perch is crap, maybe williamson as he was so attacking yesterday
The guy joined us in January and I was at his first game - he stood out as a good defender and has carried it on throughout the season.
Up till now, I can't think of a stinker that he's had, though we've had a few defeats.
At present our defence is at the bare bones of experienced players so when Taylor and Campbell are fit, some will be on the bench. That's how it should be, but I'd think that Williamson has the shirt. He did enough last season for us not to miss Taylor - that's saying something.
I admit I did question why we signed him first of all. But he is definately proved to be a good signing, hopefully I'll be calling him an excellent signing by the end of the year. Certainly is good to have a "problem" like this i.e. trying to fit 3 players into 1 position
I'd be happy to keep him with Colo for the time being. I don't think Campbell or Taylor should just walk into the team.
