    I saw an Arsenal fan on Facebook a few days ago, having a 'conversation' with his brother, who is a Liverpool fan and the Arsenal fan said, "At least we're a proper team, not a one-man team like Liverpool. You'd be rubbish without Salah" (Like they were yesterday I guess lol)

    It got me thinking - Throughout all of the teams in the Premier League, which player do you think is of the most value to his team? The absence of which player would see his team massively impacted?

    Perhaps you feel City look a shadow of what is expected of them without Aguero. Perhaps you feel Villa would struggle without Greelish or Man U without Maguire or maybe Fulham would be certs for relegation without Lookman

    Who do you think?

    We've been branded a one-man team ever since promotion.

    To be honest I don't rate Joel Ward that highly but whatevs.

    Liverpool’s most important player by far is Alisson, imo.

    Obviously Kane is huge for Spurs these days.

    Villa seem pretty reliant on Grealish, and Leicester on Vardy.

    We've got some great players in our side but when Vardy can't get into the game, there's no one else any more who can really stand up and take the game by the knackers like Mahrez also could. We're not as bad as we were under Puel. How Vardy got 20 league goals in a season under Puel I'll never know, but we've got to be up there really.

    That said, Arsenal with Aubameyang have surely been the biggest one-man team in the division the past couple of seasons? They're a bottom half side without him. He alone is what's getting then finishing 8th in the league.

    I agree that Alisson is Liverpool's most valuable player. This is also due to the drop off in quality in back-up for him. He can operate well essentially as another defender, he is decent at rushing off his line and rarely makes a save that puts the ball back into a danger area. This puts the defenders we do have under less pressure, and mitigates the issue of having a player like van Dijk out.

    Pretty much every other position is well covered if a player is to drop out, Adrian and Kelleher are not adequate.

    We rely on Jimenez way too much for our goals. While we change style and bed new players in we need to also sort out sharing the goals around the team a lot more.

    We rely on Phillips, without him we don't move the ball as well or seem to be able to defend.

    I'd say going by recent years that Grealish or Vardy would be the most impactful in their teams who would miss them most if not available. If we're going historically then I'd probably say Le Tis for Southampton.

    Leicester =vardy
    spurs = kane
    man utd = penalties
    arsenal = aubameyang
    City = kdb
    everton = richarilson apparently?

    you have to give great praise to wolves and a few other teams who don't seem to go through a player but instead are a system that players come in and out of.

    I posted it on the stat thread but Jack O'Connell for us. The difference without him in the XI is astonishing.

    All of Moyes signings have been good tbf; soucek, Bowen and coufal. The most impressive thing that Moyes has done in his 2 stints though is find a 20 goal a season striker within our squad of players. Our 2 beat numbers 9s in over a decade have been wingers

    No such thing as a 1-man team really. I've heard people say Leicester are from time-to-time but even when Vardy plays he still needs to be set up, he still passes to run onto and it won't matter how many goals he scores if the defence lets in more. Even the best players need others to facilitate what they do for the team.

    Obviously though some sides cater to the needs of a single outstanding player more than others. Given time though those sides can adapt how they play to allow someone else to shine, it's just that it's often hard to do if the way you normally play is so successful.

    I don't think you could make a case for anyone other than Bruno Fernandes for us. Perhaps De Gea in the previous years.
