    Good decision.

Weeks ago, we discussed it in the Bundesliga thread. I think it was @Oli H. who mentioned that he decided to play for England in the future and not for Germany.
Back then I didn't even know that he was born in Germany and had a German mother (father is from Nigeria). Then I read his wiki-article and read that from the age of 7 or 8 on, he lived with his parents in UK (because his mother studied there) and got double citizenship and decided to play for England at U15/U16 level. Then suddenly he also made 2 matches for Germany's U16 and then again for England at U17 and now U21 level. Bit of a yoyo :D

Anyway, it's a good decision to play for the country of his mother and where he was born. Seems that the talks he had with Bundestrainer Löw convinced him that his future is with Germany. At least one good thing that Löw has done after 2018.
Hopefully he'll field him soon for the World Cup qualifiers next month, so that he got his first cap in an official match at adult level and is then uneligible to play for another country.....not that he has another change of mind and suddenly wants to play for England ;)

Can't say I'd heard of the lad before this announcement.

Apparently he knew with Bellingham on the scene his chances of getting in the England side were slim.

He's certainly as good as or better than Bellingham.

I wish he'd decided for England but he was born in Germany tbf Brian.

Irrelevant for us as he's an attacking player. Southgate is only interested in defenders or defensive midfielders anyway.

We have loads of attackers coming through tbf so shouldn't be a big issue.

I'm thrilled with this news as the Germans have returned to crap at training youth levels again, ever since Matthias Sammer left as head of that position about 4-5 years ago. Musiala would be a major boost to maintain our ambitious nature.

I'm finally pleased with something Löw has done again. Nevertheless, this can still be screwed up if Löw doesn't play him as soon as possible, in which case I bet the FA will try to brainwash him back into feeling English. The decision is really only over once he's stepped on the pitch for Germany in a competitive match.

Germany have got it spot on with Youth since 2010. Youth get a chance hence why Youngsters go there to play.
