If you’re going to be a troll can you at least be slightly interesting? Just being a mildly irritating bellend in every single thread is just boring for everyone involved. Cheers.

Yep, that’s the problem with this current crop of young players really. Stacked at RB and out wide. Absolutely void in creative midfielders, centre backs & goalkeepers.

Winks is probably the best shout we have currently, wouldn’t mind him getting a run of games for England. This time next year I think a few people might be disappointed than the Camden born Alzate has decided to represent Columbia (assuming he returns from his injuries well). Fits what you described to a tee. I’m sure there must be someone on the verge of their clubs first team who fits the bill. It is a gaping hole in the squad though.

Ronaldo with 100 International goals. The first European to do that.

Records just keep on being added alongside his name.

Horror show from Southgate with the all right footed back 5 and double DMs in front of em to make matters worse. I know he was experimenting, but he should know these things won't work. Very worrying. Agree that Saka shoulda been picked for the squad and started tonight LWB.
Foden is good enough now to be getting games. And in the future Curtis Jones, should get decent game time this season.

Yeah my friend said these names to me. I don't see them as centre-midfielders in 3-4-3, well certainly not Foden (I can't speak for Jones because I haven't watched him enough). I'm talking players like Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Xhaka, Jorginho.....centre-midfielders that operate in the middle third of the pitch and act as the focal point in possession and can control games from there. If Southgate is sticking with this 3-4-3, Foden isn't the right profile for that midfield role imo....4-3-3 and it's a different story.

Also, in the interest of balance and fairness to Southgate, Saka hasn't fully decided yet to represent England or Nigeria. Probably why he didn't get a call-up.

Jordan Henderson is still England's best centre mid...

Wouldn't massively surprise me due to England's lack of depth in there & comparative overstock of RBs if TAA gets tried in there at some point.

Judging by Southgate's post game interview he'll mainly go 4-3-3, so Foden would be the most attacking of the 3.

That is more than San Marino, Andorra and Liechtenstein have ever scored in their international competitive games history. The stats for Ronnie are just sheer crazy.

Haven't seen England but looks like 2 very bad performances with some very odd choices from southgate.
I watched both Belgium games and while they weren't amazing either they won both games quite comfortably.

This Iceland team also isn't what it was a couple of years ago, they offer absolutely nothing and don't even defend that well, is it just your midfield being that bad so the front 3 don't get any service?

You're overstating things. Creative midfielders - see Grealish, Foden, Loftus-Cheek, Maddison. Centre backs - they're not a great selection but Maguire, Gomez and Coady are good enough to be solid. Goalkeepers - see Pope and Henderson.

The problem is - we actually need to select these players and put them in the bloody team!

Didn't watch the Iceland game but watched some of the Denmark game. Such awful selections - playing 4 centre backs, a defensive midfielder and 2 right backs. I don't know what Southgate has been smoking but I want some!

No Bale for the next games for us, but we've got Ramsey, Rodon, Mepham and Brooks all fully back now.

Would much rather we didn't have the friendly with England getting in the way of things for us before the Ireland and Bulgaria games, we've got a 27 man squad which is going to help with the three games but can't see us playing our strongest side against England which isn't exactly ideal.

Why do people get the impression that English football fans are arrogant?

It's more the fact the Wales squad is utter shite?

We also have the best attackers in the world.

All I've said is that this game isn't ideal for us, and you've come in giving the big one about how a nation that's twenty times smaller than yours is shit  We perform better than virtually any nation of our size, and have now got the most talented squad we've ever had, which is good enough for me.
