We always seem to be put into this category year after year and the last two seasons it was fairly justified with us barely being able to field a first team on the opening day and coming close to relegation come the end. This time round we're looking a much stronger side with the potential capture of Adam Rooney to play up front with Jose Baxter with Charlie MacDonald and Johnson Clarke-Harris I don't think we'll be a top 6 candidate but I think we'll finish much higher up the table than what I thought the previous two seasons.

Question is, despite the majority of fans on here being hopeful of the season ahead (it's natural), does anyone think their team will struggle next season?

Also who do other people think will be down there? I can see maybe Crewe and Stevenege struggling personally (but don't get too offended I predicted Yeovil to struggle last season)

So far under Slade we have finished seventh, nearly got relegated, then finished seventh again.

If it follows the same pattern.........

Carlisle, Colchester, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Stevenage I think will be down there.

I think Shrewsbury will do quite well, much to my displeasure, got a decent team so far.

Why haven't we been mentioned, surely we are the first club that should be named when struggling is the subject.
If we have to do a Portsmouth and get relegated but get new owners so be it, i'd take it in a second.

Who else will be with us, I think Carlisle, Walsall need to replace the ones who have left with similar quality or else they will struggle, Colchester ,Orient maybe ,and Shrewsbury

With the current turmoil & not being able to sign players I would expect us to go down

Pompeymaster, please please could you change that signature of yours, it really doesn't look good, though I stand by that the three who came down will be the three that go up.

I'll be really nice about Pompey

I think it's looking mighty fine TRSB mate. I'll chance it at the end of the season after you've shagged your poor tortoise.

I'm sure the poor tortoise will be cheering on the Wulfs, Posh and Brizzle C for the upcoming season. :bananadance

If Coventry really do KO at Sixfields then they are down, if not, it's too late for anything but a struggle to avoid the drop.

The Shrews, Carlisle and Crawley are my other 3 to go.

We're getting written off again... Not surprising seeing as we haven't done a great deal of business and nothing eye-catching, but then who has?

Going to stick my neck out and say Coventry will do a Port Vale of last season and be a surprise package may not make play offs but won't struggle has expected. Stevenage Colchester Crawley and Gillingham to go struggle

I wish I shared your optimism but seems impossible when currently we can't field a team of 11 players in their rightful positions & under a transfer embargo for a minimum of another 6 weeks.

I expected us to challenge the top 3 last season, objectively.

Like I expect us to finish top half this season.

With Tom Pope I expect nothing but promotion for Vale.

I'm surprised that so many are going for us as strugglers but I agree. I think Lee Miller will keep us up though. I can't see a team with him and Sean O'Hanlon in being relegated.

After perennial pre season relegation favourites Yeovil getting promoted all bets are off. But I always go for Walsall and I'd add Coventry, Port Vale, Shrewsbury and Bradford to struggle as well.

I was also a tad shocked, understandable with all the 'big club nob head' mentalities thats happening round here lately though.

We were under a transfer embargo until January last season and still achieved automatic promotion.
