The one upside is he’s been recommended by our current goalkeeping coach, who worked with him before he joined Dijon. Maybe he feels he can get the best out of him.

Probably get his debut against Leicester.

If we're sticking to a back five we need more cover. Arteta doesn't seem to think Saliba is ready to play despite previously suggesting he'd stayed in London all summer to prepare for the new season. Isn't Mari out til Christmas? Mustafi and Chambers both returning from serious injuries too.

The last thing we need is another centre-back. Mari is back in full training by the end of this month. Saliba is being in. There is HUGE expectation around him and we are rightly managing those expectations by gradually introducing him to the league.

We currently have EIGHT centre-backs on the books.

Unrelated but I see that Barcelona have finally got rid of Suarez and Vidal with the two going to Atletico Madrid and Inter. Morata is leaving Atletico for Juve again.

that should kill off any Kante to Inter links. It doesn’t look like Chelsea gets anything from the Morata transfer. The departures should help clear up wages for Barcelona to move for either Depay or still be linked to Wjinadulm

Probably because it’s a loan and not a transfer?

Looked like a loan with an option. I do find it interesting Pirlo’s interest in former teammate and Conte’s interest in former players.

I also see that Sevilla turned down a €55-60m bid for Kounde from City in the event City doesn’t sign Koulibaly.

Suarez & Costa partnership, Atletico had perfected being massive bastards already, so that'll cement them.

Sheesh. I mean he's had a good start to the season but that's crazy money. Solskjaer seems to have good judgement on players, no doubt, but that's a lot of wonga.

Mendy tests negative in the COVID test Thursday, he should be available Saturday.

    Silva and Chilwell also fit.
