Quite freaky that I only found this last week! It's a pretty cool series.

Started a new game. I always want to do different characters but always end up going for lockpick, science and speech.

Coincidental timing. Started a new (heavily modded) Fallout 3 save at the weekend.

Love the series. I tend to stick with sneaky, sniper types but this time I moved out of my comfort zone and built a melee-based bruiser type who will be wearing heavy gear.

Fallout 3 was amazing. New Vegas didn't quite live up to it imo, still a cracking game in it's own right though.

Never got into NV. Thought the map, characters and gameplay were all inferior to FO3. I think it suffered as well from being almost identical in terms of the graphics, it didn't really advance in anyway and it (somehow) managed to be even glitchier than Fallout 3, I didn't think that was possible at the time

Big letdown IMO, but a few years have passed so the next Fallout will probably be a big step up.

It's so difficult to go down the bad karma path. You gain so much more stuff if you actually help people.

I might see if I can get in with the Brotherhood of Steel seeing as my intelligence and science are quite high. Going for high repair this time as well, along with the usual lockpick and speech.

I sometimes detonated the bomb in Fallout 3, but otherwise I generally played with good karma. Bad karma just tended to get you in more fights and wrecked your gear

Was fun to occasionally go mad and kill random people though.

Yea the map was nowhere near as atmospheric as the Washington one imo, that felt like a proper post apocalyptic wasteland. The only thing I disliked were all the underground metro stations, confusing as hell.

Main story was a bit pants aswell, couldn't care less about the NCR/Roman fella's/robots.

The one thing that was improved in NV was the extra weapons and the fact you could aim down the sight.
