Nobody but nobody could hold a light to Marvin Live . . . sorry instant fail! As much as I like Bill both the afore mentioned had better voices .Marvin by a country mile .The only one who came close was when I saw Smokey a few decades back .As an overall artist maybe Bill but as a stand alone singer not a chance .

I love Marvin but it's my opinion

Most people would take Marvin over Bill but in my world it don't & by a long way

I know, it's difficult for me as I saw Marvin at Birmingham Odeon years ago and I knew I was in the presence of greatness .

Steveland Hardaway Judkins has more talent in his left bollock than anybody mentioned here so far!

No doubting Stevie is talented but he just doesn't blow me frock up.

I judge on what an artist stirs in me, that's why I would pick Otis from the above mentioned.

As I said this guy deserves a mention . Saw him as one of the first acts to play The Symphony Hall in Brum . Magic .Having said that saw a live show last year and his voice has succumbed to old age I'm afraid

I'm a massive fan of Marvin & Al so I cant agree with this. I think Bill Withers back catalogue is on par with Al Greens but 'take me to the river' & 'Lets stay together' are 2 of the greatest soul songs of all time, imo!

Curtis Mayfield was better than all 3 of them combined :dumbstruck

Wu Tang Clan (group albums and solo efforts) have produced more classic albums than any other group or artist :dumbstruck

    &

The Golden age of Hip Hop was the 90's, and not late 70's through to 1990

    &

Animals is pink floyds greatest album!
