Southend have added Gillingham away as a pre-season friendly. I can't think of any time we've ever played a team in pre-season we will then play in a league game. It's the last one as well, so fully expecting Gillingham as the first fixture of the season. Probably get them in the League Cup as well.

We were do to play Forest in La Manga on Saturday but they have cancelled at this late(ish) hour , feel sorry for the fans who are making the trip , not sure the amount but between 70-90 went to watch the 3 pre season games in Portugal last pre season.

St.Mirren maybe stepping in as last minute replacements to replace bottle jobs Forest :D

We've just completed a 2-0 Win in the rain in La Manga against St. Mirren enjoyed by a few drunken Posh fans & their new cheer leader John Marquis & his buddy Darragh MacAnthony .

2 completely different teams for both halves with Toney & Eisa looking sharp both scoring a goal each in the 1st half against a team with triplets , yep St.Mirren had the trialist triplets playing for them :D.

Next up Stamford on Wednesday .

Does anyone on here attend pre season matches ?

Personally , I'm not that fussed about them , bit like the Checkatrade for me !

I'll only attend if they are local or somewhere exotic, like Scotland a few years back! Southend did go to Spain a couple of years ago but the games were behind closed doors which I thought was a bit shit. The club also has a link up with FC Kitzbuhel in Austria where we send youth team players on loan. I've been waiting for a nice pre-season in the Alps for 3 years now.
I'm off to North Wales in a couple of weeks though and I'm going to try and go to some games there, I'm hoping to get to Bala v Fleetwood.

We drew 1-1 at Barnet with a trialist scoring the equalizer with the last kick of the game, we had 8 players on trial today
