Just for a bit of fun.

    4-2-3-1

    Gomes

    Holebas
    Dunk
    Britos
    Trippier

    Dacoure
    Capoue

    Peneranda
    Success
    Berghuis

    Deeney

In reality our new defenders could be anyone in the world, would love to see someone like Trippier at RB and a British centre back from the lower leagues who has potential. Gomes has been class this season but IMO has ended the campaign poorly, hopefully he's got the legs (arms) for another good year.

As long as there is no Jurado ;)

I think the new gaffer likes 3-5-2 so but more like a 3-4-1-2

    Gomes

    Cathcart
    Jesus
    Britos

    Sidibe
    Doucoure
    Capoue
    Sinclair

    Gaston Ramirez

    Deeney
    Success

    4-4-2 diamond

    Gomes

    Juanfran
    *new signing*
    Britos
    Holebas

    Brehami
    *new signing*
    Abdi
    *new signing*

    Deeney
    Peneranda

Bet you guys had forgotten about Juanfran. We signed him last summer and loaned him out all season. Layun is coming back soon aswell.

But this is what I'd like to see.

    Gomes

    Nyom
    Ranocchia
    Britos
    Holebas

    Juanfran
    Chalobah
    Brehami
    Berghuis

    Deeney
    Peneranda

Reason why I've not included Capoue in either side is because he's had his second serious knee injury and sadly I feel he might be finished (at this level anyway)

Does anyone know what is happening with Layun? His loan spell with Porto has finished now. Being such a versatile player it'd be silly to sell him imo

Shame to sell Layun. Scored in our opening PL game, can play full-back, wing-back and midfield.

What was the point in signing Juan Fran if we just going to loan him out for two years? That's a Chelsea thing.

With Mazzini being an Italien manager and with Juan Jesus being a left footed CB it does look like 3-5-2 could be on the cards again. I hope not as we had over 2 years of that. Plus I feel it would only properly suit one player - Holebas

Jesus hasn't signed yet - Napoli want him.

Only defender signed is the Belguim chap.

Walter's favored formation is 3-5-2 as was Zola's so must be an Italian thing!

If the wing-backs are quick and can cross then 3-5-2 can work well. I guess some width (from wing-backs) is better than QSF philosophy of no width. Surely Juan Fran, being an attack minded RB who can also play RM would be ideal as a RWB? No point in signing Pereyra if we are going to be playing 3-5-2 though. And might as well sell Berghuis and Amrabat too (if we are going to be playing that formation). WFC, the graveyard for talented wingers

Who knows - remember the Pozzos just give the manager a squad to work with.

Its why Flores got dumped - he wanted to sign his own players who turned out to be rubbish.

As a neutral looking in so you guys have more ideas than me. I think this could be your team on the opening day

    Gomes

    Chambers, Catchart, Lombaerts

    Dja Djedje, Capoue, Doucoure, Zuniga,

    Peyerya,

    Deeney, Success

    With a subs bench of
    Pantilimon,
    Britos,
    Nyom,
    Suarez,
    Abdi,
    Berghuis,
    Ighalo

Quite close but think it will 3-5-2 with Ighalo up front.

Mind you Sinclair and Success won't like sitting on the bench though!

Holebas might make a decent wing back too so will be in the squad and think Walter will play Britos in the 3 at the back as he is left footed..

Don't think we will get Peyerya. Plus I agree Britos will start. Reckon we will loan out Sinclair as he has had zero first team football. Also think Ighalo will start the season in the first 11. We will probably sell Berghuis before the first game too as he cant fit into a 3-5-2. Likewise Amrabat

Presuming we sign Chambers and Lombearts I will go for

    Gomes

    Chambers
    Britos
    Lombearts

    BDD
    Capoue
    Watson
    Abdi
    Zuniga

    Ighalo
    Deeney

    BENCH

    Pantilimon
    Cathcart
    Holebas
    Anya
    Dacoure
    Brehami
    Success

That's without including Prodl, Kabesle, Nyom, Brehami, Suarez, Guedioura and Sinclair.

We still need to sell Arlauskis, Belkeam, Hoban, Ekstrand, Prodl, Murray and Vydra. Sure some Championship sides sill come in for these guys. We have a big squad, too big tbh. Wouldn't mind loaning out Suarez as I felt he struggled and was a bit of a waste of space tbh.

If we do loan out Sinclair and/or sell Vydra then we will need to sign a new striker as Oulare is out on loan all season.

Shame about Peneranda not getting his work permit, was really looking forward to watching him and felt he would have made a better more positive impact than Success, ah well

Sinclair and Hoban will be in the squad as home grown players - as will Murray probably!

Given squad numbers then loaned out, just to comply with the home grown quota. Maybe if half decent home grown players were not so ridiculously expensive we wouldn't need to do that. I mean £4m on a player with zero first team football to his name wtf?
