So the final stretch is upon us and there have been standout managerial peformances with Wagner being crowned manager of the year for the team of the year, Monk doing great at Leeds, Grayson at Preston.

With regards to Rafa I would give him a Solid 7/10. On the positive side he has galvanised the club, took us to the top of the division and we have the best away record by a considerable distance. Big wins in the transfer market with Yedlin, Ritchie, Gayle and Clark (possibly Murphy).

However, Newcastles yearly budget dwarves most of the other sides and we have no real identity in the way we play. His substitutions and in game management have been horrendous and we have only the 8th best home record in the division. Both home and away we are outplayed by the opposition for long periods of a match with the reliance on having better technical and clinical players to get us a result. I mentioned the players that have been a success but then you consider he has also bought in Sels, Gamez, Lazaar, Hanley who collectively cost £15m and haven't really kicked a ball. There's also been a failure to capitalise on strong positions in the league and kick on.

He gets 7/10 for me as if you're paying a manager £5m a year, providing him with £55m to spend (yes we made a net profit of £30m but he still had £55m to spend on players) plus the biggest playing budget I'd expect more than being outplayed for large periods of games at Burton, Rotherham, Wigan and when 52000 are turning up on a regular basis the 8th best home record is just not good enough.

We're 9th, 5pts off money bags Sheffield Wednesday with what is probably the 4th lowest budget in the league.

    Grayson is doing pretty well.

Tom Barkhuizen, 23yr old we signed from Morecambe for less than £100k. Used to play for the scum down the road.

4 starts, 5 goals this month.

One of the quickest players i've seen in a Preston shirt and he's shown he can finish.

Yeah, i'm going, had to book an extra night in a hotel because of Sky moving the game.

Our away form has been poor since Christmas so not expecting much, think we've won every home game in 2017 though to make up for it.

Its just a nightmare having to take the two days off work for a Monday night kick off isn't it? At least you know it's cheap as chips once you're actually here though.

    Oh God.....the Beehive.
Didn't catch anything did you ?
Usually pop into the Duke of Wellington just down that street High Bridge.
Great Real Ale but the idiot of a manager insists on blasting music.
Used to prefer the Monkey Bar on Pilgrim St before a game donkeys years ago.
Or the Bacchus on High Bridge. Great for beer there, but the toilets are upstairs - with a knackered left leg.....
Nearest to ground will be Rosies and Newcastle Arms. No problems if you're a rival fan
Only problems are ever when the Scots come down for a pre-season or Man City fans who always tend to work themselves. Or the amusing pomposity of Spurs fans is always a cause for hilarity among Newcastle fans.

Got a feeling it was the Duke of Northumberland...

Popped into the Duke of Wellington and The Strawberry before the game too.

    8/10

Would be higher if we had a plan B, but we're playing excellent football and given we were 20th last year and relegation candidates this year Slavisa has done very well.

All I can say is that our guy doesn't need the footbridge to get across the river to the stadium.

Great. From a relegation battle to play-offs form since he's been here, without spending any money.

Superb. Unbeaten. Scored from a corner for the first time in 14 years.
