I never use the word duck, my mum and Dad use to, but most lads from the city do not use it in my generation, its a North Derbyshire thing, and older generation thing in the city.

@Villa Rocker @Panja @tiltontrev we got into Brum for Villa away at about 10am the other year and this was the only place open other than the Briar Rose spoons which don’t ever let football fans in anyway, so it was rammed full of our fans at about 10am. Weird day out, it was like a Pryzm booth playing The Wurzels

SNOBS is wicked mate, it’s properly stood the test of time, used to go in there as a teenager and as by all accounts it hasn’t changed a great deal, full of students, playing Oasis, Suede & Shed Seven on repeat, cheap piss ale, and people walking round zombied whatever time of day!!! A true Birmingham landmark :thumb

Snobs was immense in my day. Birmingham was literally festooned with nightclubs back then, it was one hell of a time to be alive..

The Dome was revolutionary in its day Trace, also the first place I ever saw drugs.

I remember student night at The Dome, watching some slapper I was at college with who regarded a termination as a supplementary form of birth control shagging some guy in a bench seat up in the eves bit to the right of where you went in. Last time I went to The Dome ... moved on the Edwards No8 then with the crowd from The Saddlers in Solihull - big difference going out with Adults rather than hormonal kids

Wasn’t Edwards the rockers pub on John Bright Street? That was my old haunt round there, Sam Wellers, Old Orleans, Kaleidoscope (later to become Flares) etc, was like the hidden alternative to Broad Street where all the none-twats went. I also used to love the Saddlers, despite its size, it’s a bloody Indian now last time I saw!!!

Fraid not Dave ..... she had legs wider than the Dartford Tunnel, she had more traffic through her too and wasn't charging 50p for the fare ....

It would be like chucking a sausage off a motorway bridge.

Don't you like your 'friend' ?

Yes, Edwards was the Rockers Pub, had a glass dance floor back in the late 80's too so you could see up from underneath (this is why rocker girls in those days all wore jeans) - I remember Harley from the Saddlers coming down the stairs to the dance floor and superman sliding across it when he slipped and fell ..... good memories, Harley was lovely and we all took care of him but his Down-syndrome did for him in then end :(

In 1989 that was about the right price though
