been a while since I was in to the scene mate. As far as I was aware drum n bass, house, electro are all very underground nowadays. The few house events I’ve been to in recent years have been reunion nights half full of youngsters because there is nowhere for them to go
used to go to a club in Bristol called lacota back in the day. Was a Great club
London always had the biggest/best drum n bass scene. The problem was the best clubs were in dangerous areas. Been to nights in Brixton, Peckham and Hackney, and has some pretty dodgy moments at these places back in the 90’s. It’s the reason I started going to house and garage nights instead. A Better class of ladies at those sorts of clubs as well
Lakota is a brilliant night, not sure if you've ever been to Blue Mountain or Motion either but also cracking venues.
Lakota and Blue Mountain are in probably the worst area of Bristol but that's reflected in the club and it makes for a good night. Not the sort of place you'd walk out alone sober at night but when you're off your nut I don't think it really comes into consideration if you lose your mates in there or whatever.
Very much still alive in Bristol there's absolutely shitloads of events on.
fair play, house/dnb scene is so underground everywhere else now. I know you guys had a decent scene but you had acts like massive attack and roni size so you were big contributors as well
My brother lived in st Paul’s when he was at uni, which wasn’t too far from Lakota. Genuinely loved that club. Tbh the area really didn’t concern me because i was used to going to dangerous areas to dnb nights in London. All the times I went out in Bristol I never had any trouble. I used to go all over the country clubbing when I was in the navy. Other than London, Cardiff, Liverpool and Bognor (of all places) were the only places we had trouble
A up what's happening to the cave, Leeds and Brum top boys turning on the Rock from Villa, come on boys be fair, I prefer as many fans from as many clubs as possible on here, it makes it a much better place to be. Hope everyone is healthy and not to bored sat at home.
Before I nosed into this thread i always thought in the West Midlands that Bluenoses , Baggies & Villa were all scarfers & Wolves were top boys & In Yorkshire Leeds have quantity not quality 1 on 1 York City , then again , I am going back to the 80's & not today where they gob off , throw a bottle or chair & that's about it really albeit not my scene , rather be a lover not a fighter !
