He was prick for what he did to Haaland, going out on the field to injure someone on purpose is the lowest of the low and makes him deplorable in my eyes, dealt with too many Keane wannabes on saturdays and sundays in my time as well and they are all pricks. Just play the game and have some fun for ffs.
He's said to his players at Ipswich that it was the best £250,000 he ever spent (the fine he received for admitting he went out to end his career).
Thought there was only one Keane...XD
Anyways, just learnt a new thing.
Not sure I'd class what he said as mocking personally. A little brash and insensitive? Yeah, but that is Keane for you.
He literally laughed at Walters. Suggest you watch it again.
Never got Irish fans defending him. Fecked off at a World Cup because he threw a strop and left the team in limbo.
He never laughed at Walters for being emotional over his family though. He could have chose his words better for sure though. He's spot on about some of the Irish players too.
Your second point is a separate issue all together.
If Haaland did to me what he did to Keane I'd watch revenge too.
Must admit, I don't think i'd go in as badly as Keane did, but i'd want some form of retribution.
In what way?
Him being a prick and his attitude in general. What was your take on him leaving during that World Cup?
I was only a kid at the time but remember enjoying the world cup a lot, didn't really think much of it at the time. I think Keane himself has gone on to say he regrets not playing though. With that said, the general consensus is that Keane was right to some extent, no? iirc the genesis report largely sided with Keane.
I agree, Keane is a miserable prick for the most part. I don't like him. I just don't think he's said an awful lot wrong in that video.
And looking back they shouldnt have sided with him. He was captain and left his country over a little falling out. He should have been hammered for it.
Great World Cup though
He is a prick but he also has admirable courage, he stands up for what he believes is right even if it may be wrong while old red nose needed alcohol to back up his words
Well, if that makes you feel better, Roy Keane only has 3 goals in UEFA Qualifiers...
This is the problem with modern day 'punditry' and the obsession with podcasts - they always end up picking someone like Keane and Neville for instance to sell a juicy story based on controversy and it blows up.
The whole thing is ridiculous and self-serving, Neville in the video saying how punditry is difficult. Ok then. Then you have Keane still acting like a child as a grown man with a chip on his shoulder. Sadly this is what sporting media/journalism has become.
I agree with @Machida he's said nothing wrong in that video.
Walters' version of events.
Sounds like Keane shit the bed tbh. Taking his jacket and watch off before threatening to phone the police
