More like £4 million. He said his goodbyes and left the training camp in Austria definitely going.

I did see £4m quoted last week, but now seeing less than that.

    Seeing £2.5m being touted.

Are we sure it's definitely us he going to? . Stoke were also interested?

He wss the best right back in the Championship when they were promoted. Their whole team has struggled in the EPL which isn't ideal for an offensive full back to shine in a struggling team who are mostly on the back foot.

He looks a player that will relish our style and will strengthen us in that area from last season but like yyou say you never know with any player.

He was also their club captain and a leader. . . . . A trait we need more of throughout the side.

Smith and Sawyers in by Saturday is the general feeling online.

That would be the best part of £15-16 million spent so far so Lenny is getting the backing.

Still want another CB to challenge for first team as Jozo can't be trusted throughout a season, we need another RB even if Smith signs and I would like to see a striker come in, Rangers supposedly looking at Roofe from Leeds, a would take him tbh, seen a decent bit of him last season and he would fit in the squad well.

I’m happy enough to be getting another leader around the place, but I just thought we would have set our sights higher.

I may be doing the guy a disservice having seen so little of him, but that’s just my initial feeling.

You’re right, reckon the fee is 2.5 million. Slightly disappointing in truth.

I would like to see us sign a midfield destroyer.

I didn’t like the way we were bullied twice at ibrox last season and we run the risk of that happening again if we don’t add a bit of physicality to the engine room.

Tbf Boli and Jullian are physical players and if they sign Smith and Sawyers are captains and known leaders.

Bring Tierney back into the mix aswel as it gives us a lot more aggression and leadership in the side which was lacking big time under Rodgers.

I think Lenny is trying to fix that problem because it wasn't only Rangers that bullied us they just copied the Hearts blueprint Tbf.

Smith might be heading to Stoke.

Baldock from Sheff Utd being mentioned again now.

Not bothered at all that we have missed out on Smith.

I’m pretty sure we can get better.

I would have preferred Baldock out of the two anyway.

Gers sign Filip Hellander from Bologna. 4 year deal. He is a Swedish international centre back.

George Baldock would definitely be a better signing than Tommy Smith, I don't think you've missed out on much.
