Liverpool will run them close but I expect them to win the title again

They'll win the league again and the second place team will be a fair bit further adrift than Liverpool were last season.

Liverpool needed a few depth signings to stay on City's tail and they didn't make them. No one else is even close.

It’ll be more of a challenge if Barcelona get their hands on Neymar this year.

It’s going to be difficult to shut out Neymar, Griezmann, Suarez and Messi, with dembele coming off the bench.

    Even with Van dijk

A slam dunk is only worth 2 points. City already have 3.

    Your mind.

I get the feeling for the first time of all the "it is there year" Liverpool will do it.

They seem to have the perfect team. Didn't need to invest. I reckon, as painful as it may be they will win the league. I reckon they are the strongest as well when it comes to the Champions League.

Klopp has done a brilliant job.

You are more confident than most of our supporters about our chances at the league that's for sure! :D

You know all those years they kept stating it is Liverpool's year, even the year Gerrard slipped, I always maintained it won't happen at that point.

However, this year?? After last year, I can see Liverpool winning it. Not only that, I reckon they'll win the Champions League as well.

    It is frightening.

I think they will struggle to get the same amount of points as last year. A lot of teams will set up to stop them rather than beat them this year. Teams were doing that to City last year and they still hit nearly 100 points. I don't think there will be much in it, but I don't think Liverpool can better their last season, and that still wasn't enough

They may not get anywhere near the same amount of points.

City scarped results during the back end. I think the difference this year will be Liverpool will turn up against City in both games because deep down they know they have that energy to overrun City. They didn't do that at Anfield last year like the previous season.

I think they will stop winning the league when Guardiola leaves and/or Aguero retires/gets too old.

It's about the only position of an older player they don't really have covered as Jesus doesn't convince me and regardless of the millions just going out and finding a reliable world class goalscorer like Aguero is not easy.

I think Jesus is on the cusp of exploding into the next tier above. He's learned from one of the best in Aguero. Despite not being the number one at City, he still has a 1 in 2 record, he's only 22. I think he's a ready made replacement.

As for the thread, I think City will win it again. And I don't think it'll be as close as it was last season.

    I agree about Jesus.

Regarding your second part, do you think that because we have stood still in the transfer window and the teams who finished below us have strengthened?

I think 97 points was an over achievement from Liverpool and something they're not capable of replicating. You could have secured the depth you think you needed, I'd be of the same mindset.

I think Liverpool will get 85-90 and I think that's the level of their squad.
