Yeah, it could be promotion related, or specifically to do with Macclesfield being a tiny club so needing investment, or it could be random. I've never had a cash injection after a promotion or ever on this so f#ck knows.

 

Its reward for my great effort

Whilst you lot have been wheeling and dealing I've struggled to keep my head above water, I think I started with the shittiest team, one of the smallest grounds and no money. Never had a break in the cup comps despite reaching the latter stages several times, last seasons final was the first decent crowd I'd played in front of, was always getting shitty home ties with 3,000/4,000 crowds whilst Joga and co where playing at Old Trafford, Anfield, etc

I guess the chairman felt sorry for me

To be honest its come too late, I'd have preferred half that a couple of seasons ago, now I've built a squad thats a bit more sustainable (still a lot of old players but a lot more competitive for the higher leagues) and my debt was a fraction to what it had been previously.

Maybe @Joga bonito got a similar one? As we're going into a league with much bigger clubs now. You only have to look at capacities me bottom with 8268, Wycombe next with 10333 then a big jump to 24000.

Just sponked mine already, I have no choice but to splash out ASAP and go in the red early doors, otherwise my wage bill demolished my cash

Once again I have chosen to buy ready made players as opposed to buying young to sell/improve. Just can't aford it at this club.

 

The worry with buying young in Div 2 is that you're in a league where the other teams are 85ish rated too. I guess if it's just to supplement the high 80s then you'd probably be fine.

Fernandinho is a decent signing for Macclesfield tbf. Their wage bill will be crazy like.

 

It has been since I started to be fair. I just sponk every bit of cash I have at the beginning of the season before the wages start eating it up, then hope I get a decent cup draw or cash injection to counter it and give me some cash the following season.

Hopefully by the time you lot catch up I'd have had my ground increased to a 60,000 all seater

 

Not with the way you run it you can't! Nevermind, with these cash injections you could be alright, should be more for promotion to the PL...

Just had a look at Division 2 & I'd expect you both to go up. Fulham could be a problem, & maybe Villa etc after updates. Gonna be interesting to see how many points you drop.

I came into the thread to say it was obvious you'd also had an influx of money too based on some of your recent accepted offers. I woulda bought Marcus Thuram & Ferran Torres... Lilian's son is doing well for the Bundesliga leaders & Torres has been doing it in the CL, both good cheap buys. Meret's a good one too.

I've got a few quid in the bank as well. You really caught up with those millions of random risers from the smaller countries. I only got around to researching who the likely risers in the biggest leagues were last week & bought a load of em. I meant to look at who was playing after 4 or 5 games but couldn't be arsed. After seeing you had over 100 players out on loan I thought I'd better make more of an effort!

 

I am trying to cut my squad size down as it does kill your wage bill having that many.

Need to make at least another 150m before I'm happy with a squad to challenge for the Div 1 title.
