So today the club submit to public consultation and planning permission the plans for a redeveloped south end of Dean Court. It would replace the existing 'meccano set' south stand with a proper stand, and would fill in the two corners at that end. Capacity would go from 11,400 to (a slightly underwhelming) 14,500. Looks dead smart though, and will be a test of our noisy agitated "ticketless fanbase" to ensure we continue selling out every week. It means more bars and stuff for supporters hopefully, plus increases space for disabled supporters.

And importantly it should mean planning permission is swift and building can commence the day after our last home game of this season. Can never tell with our council, and we are surrounded by houses and green park land, so planning is contentious. But because the proposed space and capacity is only slightly larger than what existing, original planning permission allows for it shouldn't be a big deal. Partly why we haven’t gone too mental with a capacity jump, we need this ready for not too far into next season ideally.

Definitely underwhelming. Should be a few thousand more.

Sensible, phased expansion to help sustain you in the Premier League for the long term? That's what it looks like to me and it's a size that means, even if you go down, it doesn't have to be shelved. Sound management.

Good luck with it and nice to see you're still calling it Dean Court.
