The media asked him about his views on the tackle.

I'm really not sure why they're still banging on about it and continuing the Pickford witch hunt. There certainly wasn't this much attention when Vardy injured VvD while he was here and that was 100% intentional from Jamie Vardy. Media darling I suppose.

  2. I turned on the radio yesterday and they will still harping on about Pickford. Turned straight off.

If they can make some 'outrage' they can increase engagement. Ryan Shawcross had it for years tbf.

And Van Dijk wasn’t the best defender in the world playing for one of the best team in the world at the time.

Because it was a higher profile game perhaps?

Can't recall VVD and Vardy injury? Was it career threatening?

Pretty strong argument for him being the best center back in the league when he played for us to be fair. And given we’re “by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen” I guess the second half of your statement isn’t true

He was always going to be fit.
It was a ruse to highlight a tackle by VVD and take the talk off Pickford.
I’ll be pleasantly surprised to get something out of this.
We’ve been pretty good overall...since the end of lockdown actually.
Our defence is still the major worry.
Going forward we are capable to worry anyone just lately.

Ben Godfrey just isn't a right-back, Saints are finding it really easy on this left side.
