The guy who took Chester City under has been linked with a possible take-over of Oldham Athletic

He was rumoured with a possible take-over here, so I guess this one has legs.

How an earth could this guy pass fit and proper tests if he's already taken one club under?

I'd hate it to reach that stage for OAFC but if he did you'd have to ask serious corruption questions of the FA if they allowed him to take control of another club after destroying one already.

If this gathers pace and substance Oldham fans would need to take it to the streets and protest against it and make their feelings known.

The FA are that stupid that they would allow this to happen.

the FA don't care about clubs like us, they probably want everyone in Oldham to follow the two Corporations down the road

Something like this needs as high a profile as possible so that supporters of other clubs can join in the protests. Not sure how you do this but if there is anything I can do then just say.

    KEEP IT POSH :duke

Pretty sure he didn't pass his last one :(

As for the club in Cyprus I mentioned, I'm sure I read he caused them some problems too.

After discussions with Latics' Chairman Simon Corney, who is currently in New York, Director Barry Owen can confirm there are no plans to sell the club or any stake in it to the Vaughan consortium or any other bodies.

In an exclusive interview with Latics Player, Mr Owen said: "The Chairman has never made any secrecy of the fact the club is for sale.

"However, it has always been a stipulation that any sale would have to be in the best interests of Oldham Athletic Football Club."

Mr Owen went on to say the Chairman is an astute businessman and there are very few people who would stick by a loss-making organisation for the length of time he has done.

He continued: "This demonstrates his passion and love for the club and, from a personal point of view, it is unfortunate people want to second guess his intentions.

"The Club is currently in the final stages of developing the new North Stand and I am sure Simon is fully focused on this particular project.

"I am aware that the club staff have been assured their jobs are safe and no takeover will occur to the Vaughan consortium."

Mr Owen added it is not uncommon for groups to show an interest in purchasing football clubs and some time ago the Vaughan consortium did so with Latics.

He said: "I am somewhat confused at this stage as to why they have decided that publicity would benefit their cause.

"We look forward to progressing with our new projects and to the start of the new season."

Pretty emphatic! And very pleasing to read. :)

Even if the current owners were daft enough to sell up, I honest believe that the FA would block this. If I remember correctly the failing of the 'fit and proper test' felt like too little, too late at the time so they wouldn't want to be seen doing such a questionable U-turn in such a short period of time. I'd imagine Chester fans would be pretty outraged as well.

    Fascinating guy!

I would cautiously welcome a buyout of the club by him.

The difference being, despite his past, Ridsdale's actions saved us from going bust. This Vaughan lad however... Hopefully if Oldham are taken over, it's Koukash not Vaughan.
